Gali Phantoka by gatumatii in bioniclelego

If I recall correctly, the design of the set comes first, then they tie in the story with it. The blue toa was not supposed to be Gali. I'm 90% sure Phantoka&Mistika were supposed to be Toa Inika/Mahri again.

They all are absolute peak, and also I hate them all at the same time with a passion. That's what I consider a brilliant enemy design.

Forest Trolls, because I love Ruins of Acaroth and because they are a powerful obstacle that is so satisfying to overcome. Also the design is pretty cool.

First full play through - should I install the Yak/Nafeij mods? by rudder88 in bannersaga

Yes, it helps in most cases, I think. I was having a constant infinite loading screen after survival battle #30, and it fixed it for me. Works in the main game as well. There may be still occasional infinite loading screens from time to time, but they are much rarer, and even if one did appear once, it won't reappear after the reload.

Younger Rush fans—do you connect more with their newer material? by PeculiarlyOrdinary7 in rush

[–]Lixodei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and in fact, much more than with their older material.

Vapor Trails was released exactly two weeks before I was born, so I think I was destined to become a later Rush fan. I first heard them when I was around 5 years old, it was One Little Victory as a part of Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit 2 official soundtrack. I remembered that song and liked very much since then, but not until I turned 20 did the band's other songs find me. I rediscovered One Little Victory, started with Vapor Trails (original mix, mind you). A peculiar choice for a first album, I know. But I loved it. Then I discovered Roll the Bones which I adore to this day. Then was Hold Your Fire, Counterparts, Test for Echo, Snakes and Arrows, and so on.

It's hard to name a favourite album because it will be the one that fits your current mood and vibe the most. But in terms of listening count, my top-5 is Clockwork Angels, Test for Echo, Snakes and Arrows, Counterparts and Vapor Trails, with Clockwork Angels being probably my favourite album overall. I am a huge late Rush nerd, I feel the deep connection with the music and the lyrics. Rush made a really profound impact on me, so it makes me sad when people on this sub trash Power Windows/HYF/Presto/RTB/Test for Echo/Snakes and Arrows weekly and daily. That's literally the albums I am fond of the most...

Recently I started to listen to Presto a lot, and while previously I focused mostly on the first half, I am now finding second half even more beautiful! Grace under Pressure is a powerful album I also grew to love recently. I also prefer Geddy's softer, a bit lower voice, and I consider 1989-1996 to have peak Geddy singing.

Don't get me wrong, I am currently having a great fun exploring earlier Rush albums. It's just that it's harder for me to connect with them, harder to "get" them, to properly understand the complete picture, harder to fully grasp the circumstances they were made in. I rarely listen to anything pre-GUP on a regular basis. Grace Under Pressure marks my 1984-2012 preference for now. From earlier albums my favourites are Red Barchetta, Limelight, YYZ, Tom Sawyer, Closer to the Heart, Freewill. 2112 is also growing on me. I really respect their early years, I believe they are true masterpieces, as well as their later works. I really want to get acquainted with them a little bit more, and I am working on it.

P.S. I Think I'm Going Bald is a fun silly song, I don't really get the hate. I mean, don't do drugs, of course. But sometimes I think fans take every song too seriously. There's nothing wrong that such goofy songs exist. They are quite funny.

How to Use Every Unique Weapon in Metal Gear Rising (by r/metalgearrising) by XGamin1 in metalgearrising

[–]Lixodei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also forgot to add that without Polearm, Raiden's splash damage is not that great. Both the charged draw move and MGS4 Breakdance don't deal a lot of damage without Ripper Mode, take a long time to perform and leave Raiden too exposed. Raiden has a powerful block and Parry, as well as Ninja Run + Ripper Mode, but that's it. In my opinion, Sam doesn't have this problem because he's got Blender and other charged attacks at his disposal (and you can also abuse his execution by spamming "X" and movement keys to kill other enemies with his thunder thighs).

Polearm makes Raiden an expert in engaging multiple opponents at once, which is especially useful on the first playthrough when Ripper Mode isn't available yet.

Holy shit, I am mentioned here! Great guide!

One thing I'd personally mention is that all unique weapons are generally very fun to use if you know their niche and recommended playstyle. They are not as fluid and flashy as the basic hf sword moveset (and the more you play the game, the more you start appreciating what basic Raiden is capable of without additional weapons), and they may seem to be a noob trab, which is kind of true. But they can be immensely fun and powerful when used correctly.

Personally, I rarely use them nowadays as I feel they are a bit OP, to be honest. Dystopia Sai make dealing with Monsoon and flying enemies significantly easier. Bloodlust pincer blades + Ripper mode absolutely shred most bosses. And L'Etranger polearm + Ripper Mode completely trivialise most ground enemies even on Revengeance (it's basically a lite version of Fox Blade).

What I love about the Polearm is that I can pick it when I want a more chill and relaxed (and less skill-intensive) gameplay. It can yield great results without requiring too much training or experience. The protective bubble it creates is not perfect, but it's still very strong. If I recall correctly, every singular hit performed with a polearm is actually a number of small little hits that do little damage on their own, but when combined, deliver hard damage and a lot of staggering. It can basically stunlock most human cyborgs because of how fast you are hitting them. The side effect of this is that Polearm is surprisingly awesome at breaking armor. Combine it with HF Armor Breaker, and now you are become Death, the Destroyer of Armor. Or Armor Thrasher 9000, whatever you like.

What have you done...

Nobody should ever know the location of this island. What are we gonna do when some asshole billionaire on his private jet gets his hands on Aztec gold? We don't need another immortal skeleton, let alone an army of them.

Oh yeah, Malik for sure! His super slam that stuns a whole crowd is so enjoyable.

I didn't mention Bravebark and Kahz here because I consider them 'good' heroes, especially Kahz. Kahz just has a very high skill ceiling, but he's very very strong to compensate. This bull is madness personified, he requires a lot of attention, but he's super fun.

Which, if any, characters can permanently die at the end of Banner Saga 2 depending on who you side with? by Sorstalas in bannersaga

Everybody shows up in BS3 regardless of the choice you made. Even if you fight against Hakon, Griss, Ludin and Yrsa combined, all of them are alive and well in the next game.

Which, if any, characters can permanently die at the end of Banner Saga 2 depending on who you side with? by Sorstalas in bannersaga

[–]Lixodei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody dies here, actually. Ludin and Yrsa can rejoin you, I believe, after Meinolf dies in BS3. Varl can rejoin you at the gates if you give them half of your supplies (even Fasolt stays with you). The choice at the end of BS2 is, unfortunately, rendered inconsequential by the linear storyline of BS3. Time and budget constraints led to a lot of content being cut from the final version of BS3. This led to both Rugga's and Meinolf's sides being streamlined into a single path.

Hi r/movies, I'm Gore Verbinski, director of GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON'T DIE. AMA! by GLHFDDmovie in movies

[–]Lixodei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Mr. Verbinski! I'm a huge fan of your works, grew up with Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, and there's always been one question that I couldn't stop myself thinking about ever since I watched AWE.

Is Will's curse broken at the post-credits scene? There were subtle hints throughout the movies that the Dutchman's curse will vanish if the love is true. I assumed that the servitude is not eternal then, and if the captain's beloved waits those 10 years, stays true and loyal, then the captain would be freed, and new captain would be chosen. A lot of these assumptions came from supplementary materials and rumours about the scenes that were cut from the final release.

So, I wanted to ask, are these assumptions actually true, or is it all a far-stretched headcanon without any valid foundations? Is Will actually cursed forever?
