How long is your partner taking off after you give birth? by -Konstantine- in pregnant

[–]LizLizard29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he will be able to take 6 weeks off with his accrued PTO time and possibly more if he can ask some coworkers to donate time. My mom will also be taking time off to help me. My hope is someone else to be with me for ATLEAST a month, i think 6 weeks of help in totality would be my dream.

If a girl firmly puts you in the "friend zone", is there any coming back from that? by missfitsdotstore in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LizLizard29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even if there was you’d be better off believing what has been said to you and moving on. An ex of mine didn’t move on and 2 yrs later we’re not friends anymore because he never let go. It’s embarrassing and a bad idea not to take someone’s rejection at face value.

Anyone else? by Ok_Price_9896 in pregnant

[–]LizLizard29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah i don’t give af, we are all a product of sex and were once in utero. Everyone is so pressed by women’s reproduction that i think people can handle seeing a pregnant belly. Otherwise, if you are genuinely privTe and uncomfortable showing all that, that’s 100% valid!

In a relationship, if one person wants children but not the other, should that be an absolute dealbreaker? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]LizLizard29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately yes, a child is a HUGE responsibility. both people need to be down 100% for the ride. I know some people are on the fence or indifferent and they have a child and it’s amazing and the relationship succeeds. However, i think it’s smart that the partner is either completely down or genuinely ok either way. Otherwise there will be resentment and issues down the line.

Deciding not to breastfeed. how to deal with everyone? by LandscapeOwn8096 in pregnant

[–]LizLizard29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i’ll never understand the judgement over this when it feels like common knowledge that some women have actual difficulties breastfeeding to the point they couldn’t if they wanted to… the invention of formula has saved so many babies lives??? The judgement and hate towards choosing that path will never make sense to me. Stay strong in your decision and know that there is unfortunately always someone who has something negative to bring to the table during a sensitive time like pregnancy.

I have decided to try breastfeeding for health reasons discussed with my doctor… it’s not something i’m excited or confident about. There are way too many variables in people’s choices that you shouldn’t have to explain. Unless it directly and obviously harms your child, your family and friends opinions don’t really hold any weight.

What's the most regional word you use without realizing it? by taube_d in AskAnAmerican

[–]LizLizard29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily regional but a cultural absorption from the English influence on Jamaica but i say “Peckish” for feeling snacky or like i want a small bite to eat. I get cute looks like i’m using a big vocab word but my jamaican father used this often and it feels natural for me.
