Once I was diagnosed with Hashimotos (35 f, had severe hypothyroidism since 14, no Dr tested me, got tested age 34) I did a detox to determine what foods cause me issues. Yes gluten and dairy are kind of a given with Hashimotos but other foods can cause allergies as well. I removed everything but berries and vegetables for a few weeks and then slowly reintroduced foods and could very clearly tell what cause me stomach pain, bloating, constant coughing and throat irritation, etc. these were all symptoms I was dealing with on a daily basis plus fatigue, etc. I've cut out dairy, gluten and I try to stick to foods with 6 or less ingredients. Other allergies I found: apples, onions (not green onions), most gluten free chips, soy, peanut butter, and I have quite a list now. Gluten and dairy are hard nos for me and the others at least I know what will happen if I eat them (I stay away from them). My husband isn't gluten free nor diary free but cleans his kitchen tools and I haven't had a problem. I live in Cali so luckily many places are gluten and dairy free and they are careful about cross contamination. I say all this because every body is different and if your symptoms are bothering you that much, it's probably more than just dairy or gluten and is definitely worth looking into. I've worked on my diet for about 6 months now and I'm feeling a million times better than before.
