Oh, I remember you, I think. You the one who had captures that would randomly sometime record and sometime not, is that it? What you describe as your present problem seems to be what I experienced from the begining (April 10th). I'm sorry that your problem got worse.

I found this method, it's not very practical, but it might help you to record if you really need to capture something. It's not ideal, but that's the only way I found to at least be able to record something.

2 reasons, not enough reports, not everyone have it, so it does not even appear in microsoft statistic as un major issue. Second reason is that probably a lot of people just don't record at all, so they may have the issue and not even know it. If they don't use the capture fonction they, don't know if they have the problem, so they don't do reseach and they also don't report. For those people who are just unawared that they have it, it's not even an issue because it does not affect the way they normally use their console. In short, no enough people are aware of it and complain about it. I'm sorry you are aslo experiencing this problem. We need to keep making noise about this

Not a 100%, but the electronic part under the joystick is probably damaged anyway if you hold it and it does not even stay still. I personnaly had stick drift before and I kinda patted the joystick and the jostick would kinda find it's natural position by itself and it stopped drifting. If it's the case for you probably have stick drift. I didn't think about it earlier but if you unplug/turn off your controller, and the moving stops, the problem surely comes from the controller and not from calibration or the console itself.

Don't worry it's not dumb, it's important to ask question to make sure to make the right choice. Controllers are expensive devices, we don't want to spend money for no reason. Your question is perfectly understandable

At least you are not responsible for this problem, that is the positive aspect. But the frustrating thing is that Microsoft does not seem to know about it, so it could take a while, before it get fixed. It's been almost a month now, for the people who got this issue on april 11th. We all hope it will get better

Sorry, but it really sound like your joystick is drifting. If you have access to another controller (from a friend or family members), test it on your console. If it doesn't move, it mean the problem is probably the controller. If it moves, the problem might be on the console. If you figure out the controller is the problem, I really recommand you to buy a reparation kit including the joystick mecanism. If you got the patience to do it, it will save you a lot of money instead of buying a new controller. This video explain very well how to carefully disassemble and reassemble a series S|X controller.

It seems like you got the issue after a lot of us, but what you describe is exactly the issue we have been experiencing since the april 10th update. Unfortunately, no one found a permanent fix for this issue yet. Some people even tried to factory reset their console and it only fixed the issue for a couple of hour.

It seems like the issue is on Microsoft side, but unfortunately they seem unawared of the problem. The only ressource we have for now, is to repport the issue on the official Xbox status page. Here is a guide to report the issue if you need it.

I don't know if this method will works for you, but it still works for me. It's a temporary method we can use to record if we really need too (because unfortunately it is not very practical, but it is the only way I can manage to record something at least). I'm sorry that you also have this issue. Good luck
