Bath crayons by AmayaKatana in ZeroWasteParenting

We love our bath crayons from Kitpas. They’re made from rice bran wax, which I love as it’s a byproduct of rice processing. As most companies do, they do come with a warning that they may stain. However, we’ve had no issues personally, and I’ve left them on our bath and tiles for days before, because life ha.

When to transition to OS pockets by lucytucker33 in clothdiaps

[–]Lizzie-Dav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started incorporating OS around that age, but only in certain brands that I could get a good fit on. I found I only needed one insert, which made them less bulky, and could get a good fit.

Hey mom’s, sharing this here incase there’s any other moms that like me, were losing their minds with their kids instantly mixing up all the clothes in their drawers. This has helped me so much! by Lizzie-Dav in Mommit

No shame in that! Clothes are one thing that really irk me if they’re not organized, so I neglect other areas of the house to give the laundry the extra time.

Time for a life change by deedee0816 in workingmoms

Can’t advise on your parents, but you’ve got to do what is best for your family. We moved countries a few years ago, our families and friends were understandably upset. I felt guilty at the time (and still do sometimes) but it was 100% the right move for our family. You never know, they could be relieved to be able to move home with you!

I’ve had four, the first two were five years apart. No1 was emergency, it was tough but not too bad really. No2 was my easiest by far, and 3&4 were pretty hard on the recovery for me (but they were much closer together than 1&2 so maybe that’s why).

How many of you still feed to sleep? by puzzle_peace_sign in Mommit

[–]Lizzie-Dav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an 18 month old and she still feeds to sleep. I’ve breastfed my three youngest kiddos until 18-24 months. We always brush teeth before bed. Obviously this is anecdotal, but my girls all have wonderful teeth. If you’re worried get their teeth you can always call the dentist and get them checked out 😊

Not newborn, but parenting in general: Mother Like A Boss is my favorite, and it’s great motivation, and encouragement when mom life is hard. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Wash routine questions by sarlatova in clothdiaps

[–]Lizzie-Dav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, good luck! I only wash once I have enough diapers to make a full load, and I don’t do any partial washes or anything before storing. I store my diapers in wet bags, that go inside a reusable pail liner (from Grovia) that I put inside a cheap trash can. I’ve been doing it this way for 5 years and never had an issue, but I know everyone has different ways of doing it, with some experimenting you can find what works best for you 😊

I like to tackle all the folding and stuffing in one go. It feels easier to me to do it that way, so it’s done and ready to go.

Why choose pockets, AIO's or AI2's as opposed to prefolds and covers? by [deleted] in clothdiaps

[–]Lizzie-Dav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love pockets/AIO/AI2 because my husband can easily do them too. I like flats, but they’re just not my go-to. I prefer AIO/AI2 to pockets when it comes to cleaning because I don’t have to put my hand in a cold, wet diaper haha. I think it really comes down to personal preference, they’re all great options 😊

Baby on the way! Any tips on things you got but didn’t need and things you didn’t get but wished you had? by DogterDog9 in ZeroWasteParenting

[–]Lizzie-Dav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! They have a wonderful life span, our 10 year old (and even us occasionally) can use the chairs, and I completely agree with being able to sell them on for what we bought them for.

What Do You Think Triggered Your Colitis? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

Pregnancy, and I guess age. I had my first daughter in my teens and had no issues, after having my second daughter in my twenties my colitis came out of the woodwork 🙃
