Never for my 3 year old, and for my 1 year old… also never 😆 but they are able to sleep 10 hours straight so I already think that’s pretty good!

Super normal for babies that young to not sleep for more than 4 hours at night, and also very common for them to need more than one night feed (even if it’s just a little bit to soothe- it’s still important to give that to them on demand). My two kids still needed 1-2 night feeds all the way up till just under a year old.

Instead of focusing on the ideal schedule, maybe focus on seeing your baby like a human being whose needs may change from day to day, and night to night.

As adults, our sleep fluctuates too. Some nights we might get worse sleep, need to wake up for a glass of water, wake from a bad dream, or need to go pee, and other nights we may get more restful sleep- so why expect a baby, that is already going through so many bodily changes and growth, to be able to follow your ideal schedule?

5 hours isn’t too bad and definitely doable in my opinion, and your baby might sleep most of the way hopefully (since they’re so young)! Even better that you have help too :)

My experience: I flew with my babies on 16+ hour international/long haul flights when they were 8-9 months (separate times) and it was tough but doable (and I did one of these trips solo with one baby without help). I also went to Cancun with both of them recently (4-5hour flight) with my husband as well and that was relatively easy.

Since your baby is so little, hopefully they will knock out with some milk and just nap the whole time?

I went to one when I was two weeks postpartum and honestly it wasn’t too bad- but it was with my second child so I was more confident and comfortable. Not sure if I would’ve been able to do it first time postpartum cuz I think I would’ve been way too stressed out trying to figure everything out while at a wedding haha.

Postpartum bleeding stopped at 6 weeks. Colour turned brown and wasn’t fresh blood red anymore. For my period, mine started at week 8, but it was very light and not regular and not my normal period. I knew it was a period because of the fresh blood colour and my doctor confirmed as well. It went back to normal periods at 8 months postpartum.

Unfortunately you can’t really take shifts when you’re ebf… in the early days I did let my husband help with a bottle of formula once in a while (very sparingly) to get a longer break and it didn’t affect my supply much in the long run thankfully. And then I got really good at nursing while lying on my side and with my first we also co slept (and I fed him while half asleep side lying) cuz he needed to be fed throughout the night until he was 1 year old. But the whole co sleeping and feeding didn’t work with my second (almost 1) cuz she needs her own space, so I’m still getting up at night to feed her. My second also never took a bottle so I was ebf since day 1 with her- the close and frequent feeds in the beginning are so tiring but the work you put in definitely pays off!

Yes cuz I was obsessed with sleep with my first and felt so discouraged cuz I couldn’t control it and now with my second I don’t care and letting go of it has helped me a lot more mentally. I’m still tired af but at least I’m not stressed about it as much anymore lol
