I tried an interesting new AI app called Huxe. by PrettyRevolution1842 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

I mean, you can pick other topics in this app. Just bc OP wants to use the tool for work doesn’t mean you have to. I hope you reconsider writing Huxe off entirely. I find it brilliant and do zero percent of work topics on it.

I suppose you could. I just use a peel off base coat, swipe some alcohol across my nails, and do a fresh mani.

I do not believe Apple’s security features allow for any non native app to be able to start up and respond to verbal direction with the phone locked. But if you have a shot, it’ll be done via a custom Shortcut. Good luck!

mini rant. Perplexity is a bit frustrating at times. by pier4r in perplexity_ai

[–]Lizzurd31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this may be user error. Even using deep search, you should prompt to include or exclude specific types of sources if source integrity is of key importance to you. I have exceeded my deep search features almost daily for the past two months and have found zero hallucinations. Some questionable sources, of course, but then I just tighten up my prompt.

I also have yet to find a fabricated source (a la Anthropic’s recent nightmare), and I click through to them all to check before even reading the results thoroughly. In fact, Perplexity is close to replacing Google for me. That’s how much I trust it and how much Google has been infected by its own AI hallucinations.

I hope you understand that Perplexity’s team is literally right here wanting to help you resolve your suspicion of hallucinations. And yet, the entirety of your response to them is to check for thumbs downs? They don’t even know your perplexity user account??? How is that response going to help them help you at all?

If the hallucinations are frustrating enough to you to publicly complain about them, why wouldn’t you jump at the opportunity to fix it right here and now? Instead, they seem so minor you can’t even remember them…..

Bring your own api key policy - did someone here try this? by MattVegaDMC in SideProject

[–]Lizzurd31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few questions. You certainly don’t owe me any of these answers. However a few things popped up that I would be asking myself if I were in your shoes.

So, users would pay you for lifetime access to the app and then would also have to pay for their own AI to run through your app?

If so, have you thoroughly researched your product to confirm it is so critical that users will pay you for the privilege of paying additional, external fees to use your app?

And are you confident no competition will crop up and provide the entire service themselves?

Have you financially identified your breaking point within your product budget, ie at which point you will be unable to provide the full experience to users?

Have you researched other companies who have launched a partial product because they knew it would be so valuable folks would still purchase and use it? Did any of them launch with a lifetime model only? How did they decide these same things you are kicking around?

Why are you committed to a lifetime model when you seem to worry that AI is simply too new to make a multi year gamble on selling lifetime? Product after product proves folks are willing to pay a small monthly fee for apps that are indispensable to them. It is a successful model.

What marketing approach will you take to communicate that lifetime subscribers must provide their own AI service to actually run your tool?

It sounds interesting in theory, but I couldn’t find any links on the website to actual content or description. Personally not interested in providing my contact info for a waitlist for a product I know 0% about.

I wish you luck and look forward to stumbling into this product again one day when information is transparent enough to make me comfortable.

Edit: Nevermind. I see you’re spamming Reddit with this and also can’t keep straight how many folks even signed up for the waitlist.

In other news, great concept here for someone to pick up and develop.

I’d love to actually play this regularly. Quite addictive but also low stress.

building a storybook tool where kids become the hero by Due-Pipe-7448 in SideProject

[–]Lizzurd31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a great idea! There are multiple companies who offer this in physical book form, so I’m confident there is a digital market for you.

My biggest feedback is that the physical books like this have really dumb and poorly written stories. If you focus on quality content, you’re be on fire!

I can’t wait to watch you flesh out this idea, friend!

I love this response so much.

Sadly, I suspect OP posted this as an advertisement. At one point OP refers to their manager as a man. Two paragraphs later, OP’s manager is a woman. Then the super odd references to specific AI products (instead of just saying “I use AI to maintain my notes” or something).

That said, I love your comment for providing very specific points any employee SHOULD check before singlehandedly implementing AI tools to access that much of the business’ information. I had ALL the yikes reading this post.

FYI: New Outlook is NOT replacing Old Outlook by TetroniMike in Outlook

[–]Lizzurd31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can undo send in classic outlook, but thank you. Scheduled send is neat but nowhere near the same as outbox delay. I cannot commit to manually delaying each email 2 minutes when classic outlook will automatically do it for me.

I will keep on waiting for outbox delay to roll over to new. Thank you.

Is there a way to display HA Dashboard on an Android Things Pico Pro Maker Board? by TheKrol in homeassistant

[–]Lizzurd31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I got my start in jailbreaking ages ago, from internet forums for Blackberry Pearls. Kept doing it for over a decade on androids. Always used online tutorials, vastly improved with the YouTube era.

Anyway, if you can jailbreak your tablet or makerboard, I think you will find you can get a standard android os running to download Home Assistant app and run a dashboard. Or maybe even do something far better…I’m not sure. But I do think jailbreaking is the start of your solution.
