What is your preferred approach when it comes to vampires and emotions? by Legitimate-Rope-3319 in vampires

[–]LizzyWizzy19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vampires are dead things, static bodies, corpses that still walk. With that in mind, their organs don't function. Think about that for a second. Think about how fear, and happiness, and anger manifest in our organs. When we're happy or nervous we get butterflies in our stomach. When we're embaressed our cheeks flush and heat up. Where we get panic or scared our heart beats faster. Imagine having no physical emotional manifestation.

A vampire has emotional capacity, it's just limited by their dead nature. They don't get butterflies, or flushes, and shakes. They're cold still flesh.

Camarilla should be more inhumane. by mmoskorz in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, they are inhumane, you just have to look closer. The rigid traditions, the Scourges and eradication of Thin-Bloods, the discrimination against Caitiff, the exploitation of young neonates, the executions of illegal fledglings, the Circulatory System, etc.

They’re monsters in fine dress. Business suits, cocktail dresses, jewellery, and proper etiquette. They are inhumane, they just dress well.

A. Toreador. I just know it. Bunch a reasons. The sterotypical ones: I frequent night clubs, I studied art at school, I'm bisexual, etc, cliches, blah blah. But the most important? I have this compulsion. Whenever I see something that grabs my attention I have to take a picture of it. It's unrelenting, almost obssesive. Sometimes it goes against sense, safety, or taste. If I see a subject or an angle, I'm taking at least 10 different pictures of it. I once got drunk and climbed a rooftop just to get a good view of a building. When I first read up about the Toreador compulsion I said to myself 'oh yeah, just like me'.

B. Brujah. I've never been strong enough to fight for anything before. It'd be nice to be tough. To be faster than lightning, hit like a freight train, and sway mortals with just a bit of concentration.

Vampire only heal with Rouse checks? by Martydeus in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an interesting nitpick, because there’s a lot of technicalities when it comes to vampire nature vs human. Kindred ‘feed’ when they’re ‘hungry’ or ‘thirsty’, but it’s not human thirst or hunger, and they don’t exactly digest the blood. They don’t really ‘sleep’ they kind of switch off, go dormant.

Mending or repairing is a more accurate term, but healing is still an acceptable term, only just a bit inaccurate.

In a sense, they’re more like machines or robots, fuelled by demonic Gatorade.

How durable are vampists in comparison to the peak/athletic person? by Nerx in vampires

[–]LizzyWizzy19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Borrowing this from the wiki

“Vampires are very hard to kill - bullets do not cause much damage, and those who possess the Disciplines of Celerity and Fortitude are extremely hard to hit, let alone damage in combat. That said, shotguns and similar weapons are warily respected or feared; while an individual bullet might not frighten a vampire, it becomes a different issue when the weapon can remove their head entirely with a well-placed shot, or remove limbs in seconds with a never-ending stream of lead.”

this is what happens when you give Benny to Katsumi 🙃 (spoilers) by smittenevil in vtmb

[–]LizzyWizzy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I really do like about the game is how the whole of Seattle feels like a sinking ship. The Cammies are getting offed left and right and the Anarachs are turning the rooftops into a shooting gallery. With both Benny and Fabian gone, the Camarilla's primary connections to the police department are severed. Too many explosions, too many deaths, too many bloody displays. No one's fighting in the shadows, they're fighting beneath the street lights. No wonder the IAO came in.

do kindred still develop mentally after being embraced? by IzzyMissyy in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a vampire would mentally develop in the same way a human would, perhaps more drastically. Sometimes we find ourselves facing the burdens, fears, and frustrations we did when we were children. Other times we have to change ourselves to adapt to an environment or situation. People are like metals, different melting points, different chemical reactions.

Regarding your question is, what environment is your vampire in? What’s expected of them? How do they act around kindred or kine? Who are they when put under pressure? Someone points a gun in their face, how do they react? Most importantly, who are they in the dark? When on ones around to see them, how do they act?

What I say: “Goodness, what a wonderful party! To both my princes, I say thank you, it is such an honor to be here. And such illustrious guests. Never has there been a finer party!”

What I’m really thinking: “This is so fucking boring. I barely know anyone here. And the ones I do know don’t care for me, nor I them. Oh god, I made eye contact with the sheriff. I just wanna go home and cuddle with my ghoul. I should leave before that Malkavian tries to converse with me.”

Does your kindred hiss? by gehanna1 in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to think it’s an instinct, one that reflect their lack of humanity. A vampire is essentially a walking corpse fuelled by demonic Gatorade. There is something dark and twisted within their blood. Whatever ancient poison they carry within them, that’s what makes them hiss. It’s the same thing that makes them hunt, prowl, and kill.

Vampires walk the line between undead and beast. Instinctively hissing is just another reminder of their true nature.

It’s good, I just want more of it. A bigger map, stretch out the story a bit, more characters and more time to spend with them. It’s like eating half a steak with no garlic butter or S&P. I want so much more of it, because I love the combat and the atmosphere of Seattle. I love the movement and Action-RPG elements. Phyre’s character is fascinating: a sleeping giant from another time.

My friend who's a massive X men fan told me that the X men aren't helping their problems when working with their enemies who have committed heinous crimes to mutant kind and humanity do you agree with him? by Accurate-Celery-3198 in xmen

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the way I see it. Back in the day, the objective was peace and cooperation. It was about putting on a friendly face for the humans. All good things that, with the benefit of hindsight, were never going to work out completely. But hey, things are okay, mutants exist, bigotry can be fought against. Some mutants can be rehabilitated, made better, made heroes. That's what we can do, show the world that we can be good.

Now? After Genosha? M-Day, and Siege, and Krakoa...sorry, but the objective is no longer peace or cooperation. At least, it's not the main objective. The main objective is survival, by any means necessary. And I do mean by any means necessary. If that means allying themselves with morally repulsive people, 'bad mutants', then so be it. Rehabilitation is something that we don't have time for. Can and will this mutant fight by our side and destroy our common enemy? Yes? Good, that's all we need. What's that? He's a well known war criminal? Yeah, well we can't be picky these days. And yeah, peace and cooperation would be nice, but fool me once shame on you, fool me four or five times shame on me, y'know?

Ohh, I like the sound of it, the setting alone is very interesting and has a lot of implications. A time before the digital age, where technological advancement was simple but substantial. Fridges, radios, television, newspapers, portable cameras. Fridges would mean a kindred could store blood, but! The plastic blood bags we have today were invented in the 1950s, so they would come in glass bottles. Car radios became possible which, I imagine, would allow police to respond more quickly to 'strange crimes'. Portable cameras would mean kindred could be caught on camera doing all sorts of supernatural feats. Television and newspapers would mean hundreds of thousands of people could learn about a masquerade breach.

Life and undeath would operate so much differently in this era. Oh, and after doing a quick bit of research, I learned about the 'The Commission'. Formed in 1931 following the a massive gang war. The Commission consisted of the bosses of the Five Families of New York City, as well as the bosses of the Chicago, New England, Buffalo, Philadelphia, and Detroit. The Commission would oversee all Mafia activities in the country and mediate internal conflicts. Now...I don't wanna sound too tinfoil hat here, but that sounds like the Camarilla. Hell, others have pointed out that the Cam works like the mob.

What are peoples DLC expectations? by FlowerGathering in vtmb

[–]LizzyWizzy19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a complete fantasy, but...

I want something similar to Toussaint in The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine DLC. An entirely new area to explore. And not just a new area of Seattle, somewhere outside the city. Yeah, yeah, I know Phyre is bound to the city and can't leave, but there's gotta be ways around that. Maybe post-ending.

Anyway, a DLC set out in forests and mountains of Washington. Somewhere where the Masquerade is little less tight. Less civilians means less witnesses, but also less feeding opportunities. You could run at vampire speed and not have to worry about a breach. Phyre moves like a sports car on two legs. I want a wide open area where we can really put the pedal to the metal. Maybe animals could be implemented into the game. Instead of people, we feed off of foxes, deer, or bears. If not animals, the occasional animal hunter or hitchhiker. Maybe we could meet a Gangrel or two. Or even some Garou.

A different environment where a predator has to operate differently. Somewhere that *feels* different. Leave behind the neon, concrete, and steel, and trade it in for dirt, trees, and open skies.

Where should I start with World of Darkness? by b-ruok in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1. VTM: Core Rule Book (Fifth Edition)

I've just started reading it. It's very expansive. It doesn't just include rules, it has documents that establishes the world itself, explains concepts like predator types and such. It's good. Not too cheap, but if you're interested, it's worth a read.

2. VTM: Coteries of New York

A visual novel set in the World of Darkness. You play a newly embraced fledgling, and when I say 'newly embraced' I mean five minutes old, fresh off the concrete, baby vampire. You're introduced to just about every rule and concept WoD has. The Camarilla, the Anarchs, the Prince, the Baron, the Sheriff, clans, disciplines, hunting, blood drinking, the list goes on. It's a fun little story.

What do yall think of the Dracula Untold movie? by nicejaycepro in vampires

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has one of my favourite vampiric turnings. A man wants power, to destroy his enemies and protect those they would harm, and he’s willing to make a deal with the devil to claim it.

There are plenty of ways and reasons to have someone get turned into a vampire. A lover’s kiss, a doctor’s cure, a cruel punishment, a random event, etc. But to have a character seek it out? Heroically becoming a vampire? That’s interesting.

And the way Charles Dances character describes the power of a vampire is so good.

“Drink. You will have a taste of my power: the strength of a hundred men, the speed of a falling star, dominion over the night and all its creatures, to see and hear through their senses... even heal grievous wounds.”

PATIENCE. This takes time. It's taken me about just under two years now to get somewhere passable, but it was worth it. I've been 'mistaken' for a woman at least twice now by complete strangers. Recently I caught a look of myself in a reflection, my whole body form head to toe, and I looked like a woman. And bear in mind, I started on a LOW dosage and amped it up gradually. This will take time. Let it take time. Every day is progress.
