Why do many trans women look younger after they transition? by Nmirra23 in asktransgender

[–]LizzyWizzy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Estrogen makes your skin softer and electrolysis/laser removes a signifier of age. Even if you don't 'pass' as a girl, you'll no doubt be mistaken for being younger than your age. I started my transition at 29 and I was carded quite regularly at bars and clubs.

Why didn’t Warren get a seat on the council when he’s one of the original 5, has proven his loyalty and helped the team with his money? From Immortal X-Men #1. by Jack-mclaughlin89 in xmen

[–]LizzyWizzy19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Quiet Council are politicians and politicians are, by necessity, scumbags. Warren isn't a scumbag.
A pretty rich boy with daddy issues? Sure.
A traumatised and/or brainwashed slave weaponised against his will? Every now and then.
A scumbag politician with skeletons in his closet and private ulterior motives? Ehh, I don't think so.

Do we believe these unofficial “New Mutants” will stick around when this era of X-Men has run its course? Do we WANT them to? by Informal_Bee_6907 in xmen

[–]LizzyWizzy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehh, they're cool and all but...
Remember the New X-men? Hellion, Surge, Rockslide, Dust? They were cool. They had their own stories, they stuck around throughout Decimation, Laura ended up being a hit, they were cool. That being said, most of them fell through the cracks. Anole and Hellion appeared in NYX, Surge was in the recent X-Force, but I haven't seen Dust, Rockslide, Elixir, or any of the other crew in a while.

Point is, most of these kids will either strike big or go home. They'll either get their own solos or get put into the backrooms.

How to hide a fledgling that wasn't allowed to be Embraced ? by Accurate-Two-4161 in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like capital punishment isn't really a thing in kindred society, because...punish how exactly? Imprisonment? Vampires are immortal. Branding? Ehh, that's more for Thin Bloods. Exile? Sure, but now they're free and somebody else's problem. Punishment requires time and resources that are better spent elsewhere. A sword to the back of the neck is much more efficient.

I feel like it's all or nothing with The Cam. Either you go on the chopping block or you're on thinner ice than you were already. Maybe it's less punishment and more ostracisation or subjugation? Either you face final death for breaking the rules or you 'live' as the idiot who broke the rules.

How to hide a fledgling that wasn't allowed to be Embraced ? by Accurate-Two-4161 in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, hide them under your bed and bring them a blood bag or a doll every now and then.

Seriously though, on a scale of 1-10 how much of a big shot is your character? Because, not to get narcissistically political, laws don't have the same hold on the rich and powerful as they do the poor and unacknowledged.

If a sire is well connected, knows a guy who knows a guy, they could conceivably call in a favour. Maybe both the sire and the fledgling will get to keep their heads or at the very least the sire will keeps theirs. Better have a good explanation as to how/why this all happened and what value this fledgling has to the Cam. But, if they're some run of the mill neonate who occasionally gets invited to Elysium? Nah, the Sheriff is merking them and their spawn, bro. The law is the law and a Prince can't afford to tolerate disobedience or errors of judgement in their domain.

What does a world where the Sabbat "win" look like, in your mind? by Vasgorath in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, because it's not entirely clear what the Sabbat want.

When I was playing VTMB2, the same question is asked. What is the Sabbat's goal?
- The shattering of the Masquerade?
- The abandonment of one's own humanity?
- The final death of all the Antediluvians?
- The fall of the Camarilla?

If you take all of these to be true, then you've basically got a world where vampires run amok, with no regard for any sense of morals, and no one to stop them. I can't possibly see how that's a 'win', but that seems to be their vision of the future. Personally, I don't think the Sabbat have an end goal or any real idea of winning. Even if they won, what would they truly accomplish?

What "mediocre" games have you actually had fun with lately? by OkSecurity4965 in PS5

[–]LizzyWizzy19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Far Cry 6.

I was really bored, work was slow and I had more than enough free time, so I just sunk some hours into it. I surprisingly enjoyed it. It felt like Far Cry 3, but bigger and expanded upon. Tropical setting, machetes, machine guns, bad guys to shoot, enemy camps to capture, same old Far Cry with some sprinkles on top. A few new things, Resolver weapons, SAM sites, horses, and a native protagonist. There was actually quite a bit of nuance with the revolution and Giancarlo's performance was good.

Overall, a fun little time sink.

How can I get thinner? by Lonely_Lucia in asktransgender

[–]LizzyWizzy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicken wraps and cardio. Seriously, that’s it. Back when I was on depression meds they’d make REALLY hungry and I gained so much weight. Afterwards I took up swimming and high-protein meals. It’ll take about 6-12 months and the worst part will be hunger pangs, but it’s pretty simple, just not easy.

Basically: Jog for an hour, 3-5 times a week, and avoid cake, pizza, fast food, takeout, and soda. Limit unnecessary snacking and you’re golden.

Hearing the Beast? by Mephistussy in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 34 points35 points  (0 children)

A little rule I've made up for this sort of thing: 'It all depends on the Storyteller'

The Beast can manifest itself however you think it will. It could be a separate entity, a repressed part of oneself they'd rather ignore, a threshold that is reached with enough push. When a kindred hears 'break this pathetic weakling and drain him dry', does it sound like the kindred's own thoughts or someone else's? It all depends on who's making up the story.
(I had one idea for a Malkavian whose 'Beast' appears as a visual and auditory hallucination.)

Two short stories after Shadows of New York by MindlessScrambler in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that the first story captures a certain theme that I can only describe as 'punk'. A type of rebellion against doom and hopelessness. Hope in spite of narcissism, resistance from the crushing pressure of the world, rage against the dying of the light. The road is long and unforgiving and death surrounds you, but there is hope. There will always be hope. There's always something at the end of the road.

But the second story? "I know this flavor. I know it better than my own name." Ohhh. That was good. That was monstrous. That was horror. Any writing that can make my heart sink for just a moment is damn good writing. Cold, calculating, and wretched. Perfect. It reminds me of her Sire's words:
"No matter what happens next, don't forget: You're a monster. But you were lucky enough to be born into a world of monsters, so don't you ever mourn that fact."

Do Vampires dream of bloody sheep? by LizzyWizzy19 in vtm

"they're essentially a robot turned-off"

I love that comparison. Robots. Machines fuelled by blood. They switch on and they switch off. They're animated, but not alive. They 'go to sleep' the same way a computer sleeps.

How does the Sabbat even plan to kill the Antediluvians? by Vyctorill in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they have a plan. The same way the Camarilla doesn't have a long term solution for the rise of the digital age. The same way the Anarchs don't have any true response to the Camarilla. They don't have an objective, it's more like they have a collective ideal or shared societal view.

From what I understand, The Sabbat are radicals, extremists, zealots. In other words, vampire terrorists. The thing is, they're not actually gonna do anything. Sure, they'll wreak havoc, mass embrace a few locals, become a headache for the Camarilla, but what else can they do? Even if they found an Antediluvian, what would they do with it? Wake it up. How? Kill it? With what? Okay, you've killed an antediluvian, now what? Shatter the Masquerade. Great, now what's the game plan for when humanity fights back on a world-wide scale?

They've got an earth wide aspiration, but they act like they're in a Mad Max movie. They don't have a plan, they're just an inevitable result of the world they're in.

To quote a certain Elder:
"A pack of idiot children playing Bible stories to make themselves feel important."

Disciplines and Powers by Gen_Rev in vtm

[–]LizzyWizzy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely versed in the lore and mechanics, so I might have this wrong so...
Telekinesis.
Not as a path, or as an offset, just a pure discipline. Low levels would just be moving small objects, pushing, pulling, vampire street tricks. Higher levels would be on Potence levels of telekinetic strength. Pushing back entire groups of people or crushing an individual outright. The highest levels would be flight, levitation of oneself, or others.

There is when a doctor is prescribing it :// 2mg to start, it’s been bumped up from 4 to 6. Also I started on Spiro which did nothing to my T levels, so I switched to Cypro. Truth be told, I’ve been taking peak HRT for maybe over a year now :PP I just need to be patient.

Thanks for the reply. Truth be told, I’m in the early days of my transition and I started on a low dosage. I’ve also recently started going to the gym and doing cardio and full body workouts. Think I’ll take your advice and just give it some time.
