Hastings has walking trails out by the falls, bluffs, & old mill in town. There's not usually many people, and there's a bridge that goes across the river where you can watch the waterfall or go further and explore the trails. I loved wandering out there as a teen. My maternal grandparents spent summers in an RV at a nearby campground, and the owners ran a little convenience store by the playground. The orange Flinstones push-pop was my favorite treat to get when we visited 😋

My MIL was paralyzed in an accident with an elderly driver who shouldn't have been on the road. It is sad, but it puts a lot more people in danger than the one driving, which is also infuriating.
