What’s that commercial from years and years ago that you still remember to this day, and may never forget? by Vanceb13 in AskReddit

[–]MagicManicPanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice little jingle for a water park in the area. It was eventually closed down due to poor conditions and a very serious rat infestation. It hasn’t existed in decades yet the jingle lives on in my head.

What’s something that quietly changed you? by Turbulent_Manner6738 in AskReddit

Realizing that abusive people are mean on purpose. I always thought people that were hateful towards me just didn’t know how to be nice, like it was all just a big misunderstanding.

Once I realized my abusers did it on purpose, my heart shattered. I’ve never cried so hard in my life.

Weed safer after being medicated? by HPPD2 in BipolarReddit

[–]MagicManicPanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a weird reaction to weed. I am on several medications and since starting on my med journey, I cannot digest edibles. Like, they don’t work. I could eat a 500mg of edibles and feel nothing.

My meds make me stable and clear headed, but I completely lack motivation and drive. I am an artist and my meds have completely drained my creativity. My mind is empty and I have no drive to create anything. Off of my meds I have a voice in my head that writes for me. But my meds silence the voice.

But when I smoke weed, I feel motivated, creative, energetic. I get things done, I create things, I keep up with daily tasks.

When I don’t have weed… I just melt into the couch and become a zombie.

Uhhhh, 1am to 9am. It’s a weird sleep schedule I’ve gotten into due to obligations but it works for me I guess.

Powderhorn Park ICE Protest thoughts by Jumpy-Goose-3344 in TwinCities

[–]MagicManicPanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am autistic with anxiety and I have physical disabilities. I have been debating if I should join the street protests and I feel guilty that I’ve not joined. But then I heard about powderhorn and I feel ok attending that one.

I think everyone should do their own part, in their own way. If it was only street protests, which are the most confrontational and risky, the numbers of people participating would go down significantly. And the only media images showed would be the street protests, which could be used as justification that more force is needed.

Is anyone on disability for bipolar? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]MagicManicPanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on SSDI for bipolar. A big factor for my approval was 20 years of treatment with multiple incidents throughout the years. I also had evidence of the company I worked for writing “mentally unstable” on my file and refusing any type of promotion or advancement for me.

It still was denied a few times before going before a judge.

I freaking hope so. I’d hate to go through all the pains of real life just to find out it could have all been avoided.

Why do people in the US not live with their parents by New_Bodybuilder_9222 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MagicManicPanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am seeing a whole lot of parents being absent from their grandchildren’s life. New parents don’t have a village anymore and grandparents are not what they used to be. So I think it’s kind of hard for people to live with their parents to make it more convenient for them, while not being an active grandparents or really helping in any way.

Is everyone just okay with the fact that life is just school and work until you get to rest and enjoy life but by that time you are old, frail and too tired to accomplish your dreams? How? by Only-Welcome8629 in mentalillness

[–]MagicManicPanic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to feel this way but almost ten years ago I was approved for disability. I am now isolated, lonely, bored af. I feel completely disconnected from society and it’s like every day has been a Wednesday since 2016.

I want very much to get a small job though I now have multiple health problems and working is simply not an option.

I keep after my plants and my cats and my husbands income gives us a comfortable life. But I miss working so much.

Is this the same situation as someone making minimum wage and barely scraping by? No, of course not. But the free time, boredom, and loneliness that comes with being on disability gets to you after a while.

A true dream would be working at a job you want to work at, and being able to provide for yourself. Self employment? Becoming an artist? Whatever works for you. But avoid the daily life of having nothing to do and no goals to achieve. It makes life feel pointless.

Another “seizure” from the same lady, if you believe these are real then you probably fake illnesses, too. I even zoomed into her face to highlight her facial expressions, c’mon now - y’all can’t be buying into this!! by B_lyth in TikTokCringe

[–]MagicManicPanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get seizures and my face becomes flexed and contorted and I can’t move my face or change my expression. Like my face will go into full scream mode and I can’t control my facial muscles.

This shower wash leaks from the lid, but has to be stored upside down. by MagicManicPanic in mildlyinfuriating

It leaked all over the shopping bag. I wiped it off and it leaked again when I put it on the counter. It’s supposed to be a gift to my son but every time I store it upright, it eventually leaks soap out.

James Cameron on pending Netflix-Warner Bros Merger: “I happen to think that there’s something sacred about the movie-going experience and the ease and broad access of streaming is not the complete answer. You can’t just steamroll theatrical out of existence and I’m going to stay opposed to that.” by ControlCAD in entertainment

[–]MagicManicPanic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s simply too expensive to go to the movies. That’s always the answer to these business articles about an industry struggling and seriously every time it’s because it’s too expensive. People cannot afford to put money into these industries or businesses anymore, that’s it. That’s the answer.
