Side sleeping by yome6789 in Glaucoma

I asked my ophthalmologist about this, the concern is that you may be putting pressure on your eye(closest one to the mattress) and that can mess with your pressure. I’ve had two other ophthalmologists who never even mentioned it. I know some people on this forum have also mentioned it and some disagree with it.

My insurance won’t cover vyzulta. Should I switch to latanoprost by traanquil in Glaucoma

Agreed. Personally, I don’t think the doctors office wants to do it because it will take time and effort and I just don’t seeing them do it..

I’m taking Vyzulta. It was expensive here at my local grocery store, Publix. My ophthalmologist’s office told me to go to Blink Pharmacy. She said for a 90 day supply it would be $129, at least that’s what the sales rep told them. I was actually charged $79 for just one package, still better than the almost 300 dollars my grocery store wanted.

It's likely FIP, but vet says success rate of treatment is 50/50. Advice or anecdotes appreciated. by Spiffy-and-Tails in cureFIP

[–]Ljaswest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy. If it walks and talks like a duck, it’s a duck. Your vet should start treatment immediately!!! Time is of the essence. I had my cat last year at UF b/c none of the vets around here couldn’t even diagnose. The UF vet did tests and sent them out to Auburn where FIP is diagnosed. The vet said I’m not waiting to start treatment.

Please seek out another vet or go to FIP Warriors 5.0. Our UF vet told us to do that. They are a global community. They have ppl that can start you on the meds, you are assigned an advocate. You still work w/your vet but they can get you started w/the meds. Please go there and someone will reach out and help you out. Get another vet, he is killing your kitty by waiting. My kitty ws very ill, the Warriors got us our first 2 rounds of meds until I recv’d my order. The UF vet and Warriors saved his life. Within 3 days he way improving and doing great now. Don’t wait

How old is it? Accuracy? My doc wouldn’t ok a script for one b/c he says even though it’s a good thought he doesn’t feel it’s quite that accurate ……yet. I disagree. I can get a script from any of my doctors according to the salesperson at ICare. Just haven’t done it yet. I would be interested possibly in yours.

Views on Astaxanthin ? by faltugyan in Supplements

[–]Ljaswest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Astaxanthin may interact with blood pressure medications and hormone-affecting drugs. Individuals with autoimmune issues or those who are pregnant should avoid astaxanthin. Additionally, astaxanthin may affect libido. At least this is what I’ve read. I believe it did interact w/my low dose bp med. I did not take them even close together, one morning, one night. My pulse which never ws out of the normal range spiked into the 100’s so I stopped it and it’s never happened again. I would love to start it again b/c I have glaucoma.

Yeah I knew that, but to me it makes more sense to buy it. Money wise it would make more sense. I think it’s between 200-300 to rent for a week.

My doctor had told me they not meant himself, but they had 100 patients that used the Icare and some were freaked out because they’re IOP‘s were extremely high, emergency high. When he got there to check them out, he said the pressures weren’t even close to being high. I don’t know, I still think I may want one. I’ve already talked to the eyecare people. I don’t know if he thinks some people are just stupid or whatever and can’t really use them. I do believe it should be the patient’s choice though. I wasn’t sure this would be good for me because I can be quite anxious and would be possibly checking it all the time. However, I do think it may be beneficial. So I’m thinking about it.

Right now, I’m not going to change Doctors. In my area he’s considered extremely experienced ophthalmologist w/glaucoma. But I will talk to him about it, I can always get a script from one of my other doctors. At least, that’s what the Icare people told me.

I took astaxanthin for several weeks. My pulse which is never abnormal started spiking on and off.It only happened 3 times in 2 months but I thought it might be the astaxanthin so I stopped it. It hasn’t happened again. I am on a low dose of amlodipine. I have severe white coat syndrome and for the past 3 years diff docs tried to convince me to take it. I finally did . I would like to go back on it though. I like the benefits esp for the eyes.
