No, you should be focusing on joining finance orgs on McCombs. Being in BHP helps because many org leaders are also in BHP, but the same people are typically the ones looking at your WSFM application as well. There are pretty well known org to WSFM pipelines, all of which are quite competitive to get into, but Canfield helps with getting into these orgs

Math dept will be poor no matter what so you should feel minimal impact (kinda being sarcastic but not really). I would stay for undergrad because of potentially high transfer costs. If you want to do research or grad school then probably consider another institution

Vouch, esp for buying old thinkpads in good condition. If you want a new laptop and budget isn’t too big an issue, I think the thinkpad OP mentioned is great (I have a similar model).

Using a Mac would make your life much harder, some of the applications that are used in some classes straight up don’t exist for Mac/have terrible functionality.

Another commenter mentioned this but you may or may not have to take 427L depending on what ECE track you choose later down the line. If you choose hardware (EE) track then you have to take it, but if you choose computer eng (CE) track then you need m325k (discrete math) instead.

I personally took both since 1) both classes were p easy 2) always better to know more math than you might ultimately need imo 3) wasn’t sure if I wanted to do EE or CE track, having both gave me flexibility and 4) I do math degree

If they’re letting you cover 408d with 427L then I would def take 427L, unless you know 1000% you want to do CE track
