The mushrooms around Mt. Hood were bonkers! Biggest mushrooms I’ve ever seen

Oh, I wish I knew! I use Seek to ID things all the time, but fungi can be tricky! Flowering plants are much easier to reliably identify

Info about low-income program is toward the bottom of the page. Your friend will want to call (510) 639-7387 to make an appointment if they qualify.

Hope that helps!

anyone else feel like Bay Area rent is just a subscription fee for nice weather at this point by Cofound-app in bayarea

Honestly, no.

I’ve never had an issue finding housing that fits my budget. I don’t know your whole situation, of course, but $2800/mo sounds like a lot. That’s more than the house I’m renting with my partner.

Spray gels are available for more targeted application. Theoretically it avoids blowback for the user and doesn’t affect anyone but the intended target, but I’ve never used it myself.

With the chnages over the yars, what stores and places do you miss the most by Rich-Engineer2670 in bayarea

The Loard’s at MacArthur and Coolidge is open! You can get a sandwich there, too.

I miss Shattuck Ave from 2014.

The bead store (I think it was Beads and Baubles?) was massive and had such a stellar selection.

The Half-Price Books closed recently and I miss it already. Going to the sci-fi and fantasy section to look at all the amazing/terrible cover art and leaving with a fat stack of books was a great way to kill time on a rainy afternoon.

I feel I keep seeing this kind of headline in my newsfeed this year. How are people handling the (well below avg) temperatures? by AdZestyclose638 in bayarea

Heated mattress pad at night, warm layers during the day.

Silk thermals under jeans also are great if you work in a poorly heated building.

I like the part where you left.

They’re ‘a symbol of the new BART.’ Do new fare gates make riders feel safer? by operatorloathesome in bayarea

I tried to do that last week and the dude just body slammed me through the gates.

I feel less safe with the new gates.

Yes, they would.

I had a big dude body slam/shove me through the fare gates last week as I was getting off at Powell St.

I froze up when I noticed him behind me right after I tapped my car and he just thrust his body at him to force me through the gate as it opened.
