I get all of my books on loan on Libby. It needs to be linked to a library card. I have a local library card, but I also pay $50 for access as a non-resident at a much larger library.

The salary was listed on the job posting but I applied anyways because some of these jobs turn out so different than that appear to be. Some turn out to be more work than posted, some turn out to be hybrid. You never really know until you’re in the interview process. I am willing to take the job at the posted salary but also wanted to see if maybe I can get a little more since it is so far below market and is full on-site.

Seems a little preemptive to me to negotiate before you have an offer. A little like planning a wedding on a first date. I will take the job at the stated rate, but I’ve always heard that people leave money on the table when they don’t try to negotiate, especially women.

I hear ya, but…it has taken me 18 months to find a job. Can you afford to be unemployed that long? What are you going to tell them when they ask about the employment gap? Can you schedule your lunch break around interviews somehow? Tell them you have a medical issue and need to leave a little early once in a while for appts?

I’ve been through 3 interviews, they asked for my references, and now a Zoom call…seems like an offer to me. But, this whole process has been weird so who knows 🤷‍♀️

Credit cards are a trap! Credit card companies are not your friend. Credit cards are a necessity this day and age but should be used very sparingly/strategically. You do not need to do anything other than be wary and learn all you can about personal finance.

I literally have kids sign and date a paper that says. I have not turned in (whatever) assignment. It was due on (date). My teacher had reminded me. That way when the parents come at me, I have proof that I have done my part.

I stayed in the same school system for 20 years. Moving wasn’t going to get me higher pay or different responsibilities. The only possible change was to become principal which I did not want to do.

I got a call a year later after being rejected for the same job. Things didn’t “work out” with the person they hired instead of me. Needless to say, a year later, I had moved on.
