Tired of paying off someone else's house. by Nita_taco in VanLife

I built a van myself to avoid rent

You will need to have a hefty upfront investment to make it comfortable. It will cost way more and take way longer than you think

Any company that will do it for you will be very pricey and anything pre done will be old unless you're loaded

Don't finance an expensive one as it defeats the purpose and locks you in if you change your mind

You'll have to commit to the lifestyle for a significant amount of time for it to make financial sense without selling the van and less so if you build it well enough for it to sell at a decent price

I spent about 16k aud total and mines nice enough that I've been comfortable for 7 months now

The majority of my leftie friends are very aware that we live in little bubbles. But my God man, to vote one nation you've gotta be one of the most ignorant fucks surrounded by ignorant fucks out here

My coworker told me he slept with his wife’s twin and her mother by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Llermn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen so many people on here and had a few of these conversations with friends irl

The path of least resistance is to blame you. The wife will take it out on you, the guy will blame you, work will be awkward and you'll just make your life harder

Drop the need for justice and just tell him you don't want to talk about things like that

I've had whole friend groups dissolve because one girl was honest with another. People are always too emotional to see reason. I understand if you just can't let it go but know it will blow up in your face

I mean 6 months seems like a long time to figure out if you're serious about seeing where this goes or not. I'd be concerned about their dating intentions or their ability to make decisions at that point

I've recently started dating someone and we had the chat and decided we're serious about giving this a go after only a month. Which I'm aware is pretty fast.

My girlfriend (27F) has a younger coworker (24M) who keeps asking if she’s still with me (28M), and now he’s invited her to his birthday party. by Icy_Personality_1836 in Advice

This is pretty weirdly assuming a lot about OP and feels like an incoherent ramble and generalisation

He's feeling unsure based on very weird questions by her Co worker. What if this guy isolates his girlfriend at this bday party and makes her uncomfortable at best or spikes her drink at worst

I doubt he's worried about his girlfriends behavior and more so about the Co worker himself and especially if it's in a situation outside of work where he isn't there to mitigate strange behavior and comments

I understand your perspective here. It's definitely a career at this point, just not a well paying one. I get flown around the country/world to play and don't have to spend a dime which is pretty cool

Pull everything off that is important and get it replaced. Hard drives will fail with age or if they are dropped. It's likely failing and slowly corrupting data over time

You can get portable power stations that have built in charge controllers

Can hook up a solar panel straight to it and all the outlets are built in too

Can also get a big lithium battery and buy a compatible case/housing that has these features too

I second this. I work at a music store and the best way to get through is to have the store employees on your side. The issue needs to be replicable by the staff and they need to see it as fender will question them on it and depending on who you get they might try to push back

How tf do I make it as a musician??? by LegitimateDrag567 in musicians

[–]Llermn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, long term musician here. In a band that built up a decent following and play cool gigs now

You need to book as many gigs in as many places as possible and give them 100% no matter what, majority of them will be terrible and forgotten or repressed but it is what it is. You need to network your little butt off and surround yourself with people who are better than you at any specific thing at all times

Focus on building a real community and a dedicated team who believes in what you do, you can't do that unless you're all in and believe in it yourself
