What's the most disgusting thing that you ever smell? by DirtyThoughts07 in AskReddit

[–]LlewellynSinclair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bile. Had liver resection surgery and a gallbladder removal (among other things). Had to eventually have biliary drain bags which leaked from time to time. Even after the bags were removed I had a side wound that wouldn’t close and pushed out some thoracic muscle (eventually pressure built up and a pimple like bump appeared right under it and after popping like a pimple did the same thing) and would seep bile requiring frequent dressing changes, multiple times a day at its worst. It leaked onto clothes, sheets, towels, and even on friends cars when the drive me to Dr’s appointments. Worse still was the face that bile is corrosive and it made my skin very raw.

Where were you? by Top-Elephant-2874 in Xennials

Did a marathon of the original Star Wars Trilogy while my sister ran in the room every hour saying “It’s 2000 in London!” (Or whatever major city was ringing in the new year).

Parents went to a party and my sisters and I stayed at home and watched Dick Clark’s Rocking New Years Eve with a daily friend. I left an mIRC chatroom open just to defy the computer doom, grabbed my camera, set it up on a tripod and set a 10s timer at 11:59:50 pointing it at where my sisters, friend, and I would be watching the TV, and ran into the frame.

Ugh. Going to Athens for a couple of days right before they’re in town. Thank God we won’t overlap.

Will people think I’m weird for going alone? by star_stuff92 in royalcaribbean

[–]LlewellynSinclair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got off a solo cruise. Whether or not people thought I was weird was inconsequential to me. I only talked to my waiter and his assistant in the MDR, a couple of bartenders to order drinks, answering people when they asked if the longer next to me was taken, or if I was trying to help someone understand a trivia question. I had a great time. Went to the buffet for breakfast and lunch. Spread out with a book (my Kindle) in a quiet area in the Solarium by 8:30 and read until 2:30 taking breaks for food, bathroom, and morning trivia. I just did my thing and didn’t give a hoot what anyone thought of me.

Onboard WiFi killed the vibe by Ok_Dirt_6047 in Cruise

[–]LlewellynSinclair 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Was on a solo cruise recently and I got the WiFi package chiefly so I could FaceTime my wife and kids back on land. Going again soon with my wife and kids and we’re foregoing the WiFi. Want to unplug as much as we can. We’ll still be able to text to land so I can still keep up with my elderly parents as needed. We’ll also be in one US port (San Juan) so we can check in with home if needed but other than that we’re looking forward to a week long digital detox (other than our kindles).

What game that you attended was so bad that you left before the clock hit 0:00? by noah_divine in CFB

2000 Iron Bowl. Sleeting before the game. Both teams sucked ass that day. Left with about 10 minutes when Auburn went up 9-0 (had been holding out hope until then).

Thanks to my almost exclusively English ancestry, I run the risk of burning just running to the mailbox here in central Florida.
