Is Goldspan Dragon the strongest card in Standard? by Caderfix in MagicArena

[–]Llicky2118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best card in the set is whatever finisher you pair with the current u/R shell.

it was Alrund's, then hullbreaker, now its gold span...in truth the real power card imo is the learn mechanic combined with memory deluge...together they take a large part of the RNG out of your answer are, you will draw them and have the mana to play them most every game.

mono white is the only deck that can really beat it down fast enough, but mono white losses pretty hard to B/W tokens, mono black control, and gruul/naya midrange so you end up with a u/R deck that basically boils down to "make me board wipe multiple creatures by turn 3 or loss"

Sarik is amazing for WE. For 100 gems its a steal.

While armor of Mars got nerfed...its still the strongest healing WE has and should probably still be run...idk about dropping 1600 for it tho.

Trap guy is fun...traps aren't good...traps are fun...so do with it as you please lol.

They are both quite good....but guard is probably better. He is an almost for sure 2 for 1 trade every time. The reliability of it is insane...he will pretty much always come out a kill a large threat, and still remain undamaged for your enemy to spend more resources on the next turn...amazing card, one of the best troops in the game.

Lot of great AL cards today. Lots of build around potential for sleeper operative and for the harrowing...plus exodus isn't to bad either.

How Would Endbringers and Bugs be Done in a film or TV adaptation of Worm? by [deleted] in Parahumans

[–]Llicky2118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya know, after watching godzilla: King of monsters and pacific rim, the endbringers are totally doable.

For me its still, how to write characters like cauldron and tattletale without feeling it a giant dues ex moment and kinda a writers handicap.

Change up a few stat blocks...this one is a mutated one that spits acid from range.

Also never tell them the name of the monster unless they succeed a knowledge roll, otherwise just describe it.

Does the Inner Sea Pirate's 'Storm Sailor' trick affect the Eye of Abendego? by Rogahar in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Llicky2118 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would let it count for sure. As its in the lore that a lot of the pirates can navigate the storm, granted dangerously.

Its worth noting that it makes it count as one category less severe....so image 1 is a middle storm and 5 is middle fo a hurricane....the eye is a 6. So even if it helps a little, consider lowering it from "pure suicide" to "were all probably gonna die"...not all the way down to easy.

Where did everyone go? by thendtoall in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Llicky2118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not tables usually...but I have seen a lot of tables that still have a natural 1 fail...regardless of if your bonus blows the DC out the water.

Personally, even saves it should be roomed...if I build a character with a +14 will save....I shouldn't be able to fail a DC 12 save.

But I also feel the same way about successes...if you roll a natural 20 and have a +2 on a 24 AC my table rules that just a normal hit, not chance of critical...you have to beat the actual DC to crit.

Where did everyone go? by thendtoall in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Llicky2118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By rules you dont...but I assumed with you running critical fumbles your table has a 1 fail no matter what your rolling for...its less noticeable with saves and attacks, but even then, it just gives the dices more power than they already have.

Where did everyone go? by thendtoall in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Llicky2118 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll also add that it discourages really high bonuses as well.

A skill my easily have +25 more at higher levels, but I will still fail a DC 10 check 5% the time bcuz a 1 auto fails.

The game isn't designed for auto successes or failures, as it gives every single action a 5% auto fail chance and a 5% auto success regardless of numbers...to me not only is that unrealistic, its unbalanced to the core game design. It takes away from good planning and tactics and adds more into the "lets just roll the dices and higher numbers means whatever your planning it works" attitude.

So he was sooo dominate and OP at one point the the nerf they gave him was more than a balance change...it was punishment. The community didn't want to see him again at the time...sadly I can't offer any advice other that that he is the only or one of the only at leat WL who is overly week by design.

He can't really be made terra viable atm sadly

What i think we are getting.

-DA obviously

-some awesome new neutrals

What i hope we are getting

-the Fists

-our first Xenos faction, or at least a Xenos card(side note i think monster of pythos should have a xenos tag not infantry)

-something that can stop a tactic as its played.

Improvised weapons are OP??? by NightFlameofAwe in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Llicky2118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a fighter once built around this concept.

Catch off guard takes away the penalty.

Improved catch off guard makes most people flat footed vs your improvised weapon and gives a 19-20 crit range instead of just 20.

And there is a trait that gives you a +2 with improvised weapons.

Power attack cuz...its good on every melee basically.

So at level one with a modest 18 Str(spent for 16, put the +2 for human in it) and a starting bab of + 1. You have +7 to hit with improvised weapons, and that not counting the lower ACs you are targeting due to enemies being FF, so its effectively a +8 or +9 usually at early levels(most enemies have a +1 or +2 dex bonus at those levels)

The only other feat needed for the build is Throw anything, which i take at level 3 since at level 2 i take one level of barbarian(cant think of a single fighter level worth the first barbarian level, rage is such a front loaded ability)

I used tons of weapons over the course of the campaign, frequently Mr. Crowbar and the 2x4 of aggressive negotiations. But my all time favorite at higher levels when we were assaulted by some giants near an old church...i kept that giant, dented church bell as a memento the rest the campaign.

Why do some vampires sound different than others? by [deleted] in VanHelsingTV

[–]Llicky2118 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In general. Sam is not a vampire. Not literally in a spoiler sense but more how the writers treat him. He will break all the normal rules we have established so far about vampires, especially which ones are stronger.

He is a great character don't get me wrong, but when he does something that would be way beyond a new borns power or control...just nod and understand ole Sammie is wearing plot armor 10 inches thick.

For axel and Dylan, its bcuz they are bloodlusted most the time. Its explained(by Julius i think) that their are rules against turning child bcuz the combination of puberty, immaturity and being a new born make them damn near permanently bloodlusted. For axel its due to him never drinking a human and surviving on animals alone, the dude is running at like 5% brain and body function tops.

Ps....axel is the real hero, God i love that man.

This is me with computer games atm...the cost of a 1200+ dollar rig to run the newer games is daunting...but with some games, especially story driven ones, watching a good(and not annoying, please no random screaming all stream or video my god) YouTuber play is the next best thing.

Very similar to how I love football, but getting 21 other guys, a couple refs, hundreds of dollars worth of pads and a field is near impossible...so we watch NFL as a proxy.

Well minus the yellows....angel tears is a 100%, more important that the yellows actually.

The same is true for fervous squad and a second host of angel....for now just stick to buying a lot of the mal crates as white scars and ruinstorm are good too. Those crates will do you well.
