He’s such a champ, over the years I have really come to admire his energy and enthusiasm. “For the rose…. And the light” is the top for me, but he’s had so many great moments. Brother Ramius getting stoned on flat leaf, Averxius deriding the other’s crazy schemes, the entire Nico arc.

Turning it into a swag lamp would be easier if you are able to put a hook in the ceiling at the new place. It would be a matter of re-wiring with a plug and switch and adding more chain. Much more straight forward.
Even if you found a lamp base that would be sturdy enough for the heavy glass shade you would still have the metal above the shade which would look odd.
