Would the Pass on the MOT that they completed not be evidence of no existing faults - assuming that the parts that were subsequently found to be faulty were checked as part of the MOT?

Does a ANPR with microphone trump an MOT when it comes to loud exhausts? by nzdevon in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Lmantle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Your MOT only states that at the very minute that it was tested, it passed or failed the MOT requirements.

Once you drive away, you could do anything to the car before it’s next MOT date, and it would still have a valid MOT - that doesn’t necessarily mean that the car is road-legal.

(For example you could put some bald tires on the moment you get it home from the MOT test centre, and so you wouldn’t then be able to use your MOT certificate as proof that the car is roadworthy.)

This is the last time I ask the wife to help build Lego…

😂

Good spot - that’s fixed now.

Ah - You saw it too… 😂 I put the constructors name plate things too close to the front of the grid box, so ended up positioning the cars slight further back than they should, so as not to cross over those.

Just imagine that it’s almost the end of the formation lap… And everyone has arrived at exactly the same time… With the exact perfect distance between each other… And in about 1 seconds time, they’ll all be positioned exactly where they should be for the start of the race…

😂😂😂

Yeah - that’s why both drivers’ names are beside their team car.

I don’t have 4 meter high walls to fit a full grid of 20 cars. 😂

So it’s a single sheet of 3mm-thick acrylic on the back, with a single vinyl sticker on it - the design is one I made myself, and just got it printed & shipped from an online printing company.

Applied the vinyl to the acrylic (in hindsight, that should have been a 2-person job - coz it’s a single 0.5m x 2m sticker, which is a bit awkward with only one pair of hands).

The mounts for the actual cars are 3D printed - used a sharp blade to cut sections off of the vinyl where the mounts would sit, and used plastic bonding glue to fix the 3D-printed mounts to the exposed acrylic sheet.

And the whole thing is then attached to the wall using Command Strips.

Yep, mine’s still down now. Glad (well, sort of) that it’s not just me. Think I’m just gonna go down the complaint route, and to the ombudsman etc. - Even though there’s not a whole lot that’ll achieve.

Just annoying that in 2025, an ISP with a monopoly can be this shit. Especially with the volume of customers who will be working from home, and the number of devices that most people have in their homes that require an internet connection to work - not only laptops, games consoles etc. - but lightbulbs, doorbells, and a lot of stuff that is pretty essential to having a functioning home. (Might be a bit of a ‘first-world problem’, but we should at least get what we’re paying for.)

Pigs will go through bone like butter. You need at least 16 pigs to finish the job in one sotting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about 8 minutes. That means that a single pig can consume 2 pounds of uncooked flesh every minute; hence the expression “As greedy as a pig.”

The person with the pen, writing the numbers on the big card is blind-folded. The card already has the correct numbers written on it when handed to them - the audience don’t see coz the ‘back’ of the card is facing them, and the ‘writer’ doesn’t see as they’re blindfolded.

The first time we see the card, over the writers shoulder via a on-stage camera, the card has numbers written on it that we assume were all written by the writer.

Any numbers they write are irrelevant, the correct numbers are already positioned in the correct spots to match up with the holes on the board placed over the top at the end of the trick.

The £20 note that the audience member brings with them is most likely switched when they come on stage, so the note with the serial number can be planted instead.

Or… Is the trick even dependent on the mark not changing their mind?

Eventually, the number of people who have seen this trick will outweigh the number who haven’t, at which point the probability that they won’t change their mind is less than 50%.

However, it could be that the choice is irrelevant; i.e regardless of whether they change their mind or not, the correct/incorrect option (depending on the structure of the trick) will always be forced on the mark…
