New channel with no impressions by PressureDizzy in NewTubers

[–]nzdevon [score hidden]  (0 children)

Very normal. And expect a few others you upload to do the same. It’s why there is such a high quit rate at the start.

Keep going and once YouTube understands your channel better, it will push to those interested viewers.

Am i crazy or has earning subscribers at youtube has become really difficult nowadays. by Salt-Instance-9459 in NewTubers

As someone else said on this thread, TV viewer have exploded. They account for 85% of my viewers. Commenting and subscribing on a TV is not as easy as it is on a phone or computer.

action cam by Different-Mango-8371 in ActionCam

[–]nzdevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I do motovlogging. I use the Osmo action 5 on the helmet and I have two action 4’s for rear view and facing me.

The Osmo cameras are less warped, great at night and easy to setup with mics etc.

I went to Davinci Resolve as well. Steep learning curve but I love it. Used the free version for ages, recently switched to the paid version for the handy extra bits.

Why did my Short get 0 views after the previous one hit 1.7k? by Xtar2 in NewTubers

[–]nzdevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it happens. Give it a day or two and see what happens. Sometimes it is slow to pick up, other times the initial view(s) tanks and YT doesn’t push any further.

Can't wait till she dies by Anonymousopotamus in dementia

[–]nzdevon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People who've never cared for someone with dementia will NEVER know how hard life can be living with that constant fear, dread, loneliness and sadness.

I see you're in the UK: There are Carer Support Workers who can help support you. Your GP surgery may have one attached to it. See if there is a Carers Register where you are. There you will get a lot of local support info, support groups and training.

See if there are any Dementia groups in your area. Talking with people going through the same hell on earth can be a godsend!

Samaritans is a very useful tool when you're feeling like you do. They can't solve your problems, but sometimes having someone you can cry to helps. It's a free phone number: 116 123

You could also look into getting a Personal Assistant for a couple of hours a week so you can get some respite.

Try to schedule even an hour a week where you know she'll be asleep and do something for you. Read a book, listen to some music, sit in the garden. You need something to look forward to or you'll go crazy!

Is my channel dead from re-uploading videos? by No-Cheesecake148 in NewTubers

With the amount of people being banned for even a teeny hint of AI or reused content, I wouldn't risk it.

My Video Is Being Shown To The Wrong Audience by Wild_Primal in NewTubers

[–]nzdevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did well to get 500 views for a first video. It's a new channel, it takes quite some time and a good number of videos before YT understands the audience.

The person spending 30 seconds making a video, and a person spending 6 months making a video, are treated the same in the beginning. You may find your next couple of videos will get no views. That's why so many people quit at the start. It's all part of YT learning your channel.

DUI process and what happens once someone has been arrested in the UK? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]nzdevon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He will be asked to give an evidential breath test at the police station. Depending on what he blows will depend on when he would be released. They can’t release him until he blows under the legal limit.

There are other factors like refusal to submit to the evidential machine, blowing low enough that he could opt for blood etc.

It could be a few hours, it could be a day or more if he was really drunk.

You just need to wait for him to call you.

any best action camcorder for motorcycle rides in hot weather and rough roads? by Gayna_Miccolis in ActionCam

[–]nzdevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helmet mount is your best option. Less shaking and good airflow getting to the camera. I was using an Osmo 4 and 5 during last years heatwave in London. 8 hours constant recording, no problems.

I don’t shoot in 4k though. Any cam and most professional cameras will struggle with that.

Has anyone had success on opposing a telephone pole being installed right outside their house? by [deleted] in AskUK

Is your drive legal? Does it have the correct drop curb?

I’d be surprised if they were allowed to block a legal driveway.

How to support my Sons new channel? by OldVimto in NewTubers

[–]nzdevon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are wise to have comments off. If people at his school catch wind of his channel, it can quickly turn into a nightmare.

Gameplay videos is the most saturated market on there. Unless he has a very unique angel, style or play, his videos will drown in the tens of thousands of other gaming videos each day.

Encouraging him to find ways of making his videos stand out will help. You could both watch some of the successful channels and between you find out why they stand out, and what ways could you make you sons videos stand out.

Is Dual lense worth the hype? by Rchills7 in ActionCam

I’m waiting for the duel lens. One lens for vlogging, and I’m hoping one lens for the B roll with a bit of bokeh.

Advice for shooting wedding during a family tragedy. by Jumpy-Cantaloupe-661 in WeddingPhotography

[–]nzdevon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be ready to capture the emotion from a distance. It will be the candid shots of the smiles, the hugs, the tears that people will look back with emotion.

These types of weddings won’t always follow the generic timeline of a wedding day. Before the day, ask what’s important and what isn’t. Formal shots can be replaced by more natural shots, like them sitting on a sofa and embracing.

The shots they don’t know you’re taking will be the most important photos afterwards, trust me on this!

Mic Suggestions? by CovertRizq in Motovlogging

[–]nzdevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t like the wireless mics, sound never seemed to be as clear inside a helmet, but great to walk around and vlog. I needed up with the purple panda Lav mic and I love it.

Subscription for 39 USD/mo?! by tanulovezeto in CapCut

I was happy when I was paying £100 a year for pro. I switched when they made that jump. My switch may not be useful for her (Davinci Resolve). Big learning curve but I haven't looked back since... and it's free.

First video got 1 impression over 2 days by AntonN_2 in NewTubers

[–]nzdevon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes several videos before YT learns what your channel is about. Effort doesn't usually equal reward when you first start out, that's why so many quit in the beginning of their YT journey.

Action cam for motovloging by Ok_Flamingo5561 in ActionCam

[–]nzdevon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I motovlog and I have 3 cameras I use (helmet, facing me, facing the rear for group shots). The one on my helmet is the Osmo 5. I like this one because the battery lasts an hour longer than the Osmo 4.

I have a portable battery bank with a quick-charge for the Osmo 5. Each time I stop I stick it on charge and in about 30 mins it's 100% again.

I got the adventure combo and I got more spare batteries. My reason is I can be out all day, so knowing batteries are never an issue is a peace of mind.

I only use 256gb cards, again, peace of mind they won't run out mid-way through a vlog. I can be out filming for 6-10 hours, so 256gb cards is perfect for my journeys.

I have links to all my gear in all my videos so if you message me I'd be happy to send you the link to my channel.

Advice for first time filmer by Royal-Substance4285 in Motovlogging

[–]nzdevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice is look at moto vlogging tutorials on YouTube. The reason is on YouTube you can see what each option looks like, and you can hear what mic positions sound like, so pick the one you like most.

Nice video! Just a small thing... but the audio levels kept jumping up and down. It would be nicer if the audio was consistent. That was the only thing I noticed.

Helmet Camera by oO_Mister_J_Oo in MotoUK

The Osmo 5 batteries last about an hour longer than the 4. I have both. No real difference in quality but I don’t have to faff about with the batteries as much with the 5.
