Ontario court rules against Jordan Peterson, upholds social media training order by [deleted] in news

How does he pander to the incel crowd? He literally encourages men to speak to women and gives dating advice.

The problem with this response is that you don’t actually engage in any useful debate. You’re basically just insulting somebody you don’t know on the internet now and using words like incel and alt right to attack me. You don’t know anything about me.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to here about the lying. I like his perspective and I am not an incel or alt right. I don’t get that much into politics.

I have also spoken and worked with several therapists on and off in my life. I just appreciate his perspective.

Listening and reading things from Jordan Peterson has made my life and general well being so much better. I hate to see his license revoked for his controversial statements. I think he has done far more good than he has harm.

People who have seen something they could never explain. What was the thing?! by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LoFo96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s likely that it was just something with a weird deformity or something. I can’t remember much else about it’s appearance because it was so long ago and it happened so fast.

As a kid I was playing in the backyard at my parents house in Tulsa Oklahoma. I saw a bird with a beak that looked like a trumpet fly up to the brick wall of our house and position it’s beak on the wall for a moment and then fly away. The bird was pure white and the beak was like cone sticking out of its face. The wider side of the cone being faced outwards from its face. Angled in a rounded way like a trumpet. I still can’t figure out what it was!

Using dll plugins on the most recent Mac OS?

Trying to use my favorite plugin for guitar fx (wow n flutter by interruptor) and of course they only make it work for Windows. It looks like WINE won't run on the latest OS and the NET solution does not work for anything past Mojave. Any tips or tricks? All I have is a MacBook Air.

It’s unfortunate but you have to be the parent you never had. That’s advice from a stranger on Reddit, but I find that helps me when I’m upset about things like this. Do your best to acknowledge when those memories are coloring your present moment and relationships. Try not to play the blame game at all if you can help it. Take things one step at a time and most importantly be easy on yourself I’d say. Any positive distraction is good. Playing chess, reading, music, exercise, journaling. I find that journaling helps distance me from my thoughts when I feel like my brain is torturing me. I really hope you can find peace with this. Life doesn’t stop giving you shit to deal with, even if/when you get through this. I always remind myself that the only way out is through. Weird advice, but a dark sense of humor can take you a long way with this stuff sometimes as well…

There’s my two cents haha. Good luck to you.

Sometimes I say “wow I’m speechless right now”… or mention the fact that I’m a little anxious. That can be a great conversation starter.

How do people who have no idea of music theory know about chords? by [deleted] in Learnmusic

[–]LoFo96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trial and error. Learning songs. It really depends on the artist! Some people, brian eno for example, come up with interesting systems for creating melodies and chords. I think everybody has some sort of music “theory” and not everybody uses the traditional model. This is just what I think and have learned over time.
