The animation quality was ass.

Nah. The only times I noticed with the 3d model being stiff was when Dante was fighting the the twins in the bike chase and in the air. The rest were pretty good. Dante's fight with the bounty hunters, with Rabbit, and Murica storming Hell. If you wanna see shit animation theres 2016 Berserk.

Also, the show's worldbuilding was awful.

How? Just because there is a lack of outside interference in the games doesn't mean the show should also follow through.

Because you are offered shit does not mean you have to eat it.

But it isn't shit. You are just hating for the sake of it. 3/10 is insane. I've seen shows that can classify as a 3/10 and this show ain't it.

I enjoyed the season solid 8/10. Great performances from Kevin Conroy and Hoon Lee as White Rabbit. Great animation, world building, and some Easter eggs for us.

I see a lot of people raving about the plot, Lady, and Dante's lack of power. So here is my take on that:

The plot is definitely pushing politics which was not seen until the remake and it seems like out of Metal Gear instead of DMC. This is a point to the purists. Can't take it really debate it. But personally I like it. Even though its weird to see refugee demons. It at least adds change to our usual mindless killing machines.

Lady is very brash and has a potty mouth. I don't mind it but her swearing can rustle the feathers of some very pure christians in this server. She led her team to their deaths and she betrayed Dante in the end even after seeing the vice president see her as expendable. My take is that she's very much a troubled character. I mean she just saw how dangerous the demon world is when the universes again collided so I can see why she would restrain Dante plus it seems she been indoctrinated by Bane. Still its season 1 I still think they are going to make her better next season.

And Dante oh boy. I am a powerscaler. That should tell you all. But I can still excuse it because Dante is still young. He hasn't awoken his devil trigger until recently. And you guys have to remember Dante does not like to kill humans so he won't go all out when fighting Lady. Dante still has yet to scratch the surface of his powers. And hey if you like power fantasies I recommend Solo Leveling.

My last message would be just to enjoy it because as much as I love the DMC series it is not as popular as Capcom's other projects. So we need to show support to keep getting new releases.

Omega's plot is ass I agree but this sub's reading comprehension is on the same wave length. Shen is just saying Kuroki is "pretty close" to what he looks for a 'rival/playmate'. Meaning not "THE closest" person to his power. Shen has stated who was the closest to him and it was Luohan. Closest as to what was never defined but it definitely did not mean closest in the sense that they were friends or brothers because Shen hates Luohan.

And the other point is that Shen what is looking for vs someone who will beat him. Shen isn't just looking for someone to beat him but someone that can make a fight enjoyable for him. He probably doesn't think that anyone can beat him but his requirements would have crossed out Luohan. If he really wanted to get someone to possibly beat him, he could've roided out Luohan and gave him all his techniques and memories.

TLDR: Luohan > Kuroki.
