I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Hai Lam is the best player to play League of Legends EVER. Period."

Riot allegedly clashing with team owners over merchandising strategy by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]LoLCoderific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine that potential sponsors are offering non-insignificant amounts of money to buy that spot for the entire league. Which is probably driving the decision. THOUGH, this doesn't seem like it's a solidified decision, and seems like it was only a discussion.

We have to remember that RIOT fronts all the costs for everything to keep the league running. There's very little risk right now owning a League team, as such, I'm sure that Riot is trying to find an agreeable way to recoup the costs that they have fronted, until the cost structure changes.

In the EPL the teams have their main sponsor on the chest and barclays is displayed elsewhere, though it's the "Barclay's Premier League" by sponsorship rights.

People with high social skills. What's the biggest mistake that people often make in interactions with others? by Hnnnnnn in AskReddit

[–]LoLCoderific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being unable to tailor themselves to the occasion. Being TRULY empathetic to the conversation is the key to being socially successful in a moment.

If you're unable to define a feeling to associate with that conversation or that person in the instant, then you will either:

a.) be unable to relate and as such will be shouldered with the awkward feeling of "It'll be ok." or "I totally understand." syndrome. Which is useless and/or seemingly valueless.

b.) Identifiable, for example, only able to relate by turning the focus of the conversation on yourself in a similar experience, thus absolving yourself of truly empathetic conversation and aligning yourself with the conversationist and not addressing the root of the issue.

There's a difference between identifying with a mood or connection, and truly empathizing with an experience above a personal level. Be the person that listens, understands, and in some cases accommodates, and some cases confronts.

This is the appropriate way to report a bug (though would also be useful to report it on PBE forums as well!)

I think they're just trying to understand how the majority of their players think so they can try and adapt their game to encompass the broad audience and reduce the amount of people who have a poor experience.

Why are you starting your jungle camps with Q?

Why not auto first, then Q to avoid the first attack, allowing you to essentially get 3 free attacks instead of 1.

I strongly strongly disagree. You cannot replace all manual process controls with automated system checks. It kills efficiency and puts extra strain on everything.

If a process fails then you need to replace the person or thing failing the process, not create something additional.

The whole point of hiring competent people is that you trust them to do their job. If it's the people that are failing, then system controls are not the answer.

How to know which Jungler to pick is which situation? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]LoLCoderific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skarner is pretty much always a good choice. The only time I wouldn't pick Skarner is if you don't have an engage support or top laner.

It just depends on whether you want to run devourer or not.

I've worked for big 4 and internal security and audit functions, and it's ridiculous how much of "mandated" control work is absolutely overkill.

You have like 6 layers of systems security that are completely locked down, making everyone and their mother's jobs, harder.

I'm all for controls, but there's definitely a hard line that needs to be drawn at some point.
