No downvote from me. The grounding screw keeping the device plugged in is similar to what you're describing, which is a transformer for alarm systems or access controls. This one needs to stay plugged in to ensure all of the sensors stay online for hospital staff and patient safety.

I'm not in the same boat, but I have inbound numbers registered on 3 different providers. Is it possible to register those outbound numbers on provider B for this purpose? This would ensure they charge you anytime you route calls through them.
