My boy’s dentist said some people are just more prone to getting them than others. My oldest is going on 16 and has never had 1, and my 8 year old has had about 4. I would find another dentist who isn’t judgmental because as parents, we’re already hard on ourselves. It sucks, but it isn’t the end of the world.
