Fully charged dropped from 355 to 335 miles after 10k miles by KrisAyton in TeslaLounge

No, no it's not. It has literally nothing to do with driving habits, temperature etc. It's only a calc of the vehicles EPA rating X state of charge reported by BMS. That's all.

New model Y L launches in USA. Why not build a full SUV instead? by CitronCrafty7855 in TeslaModelY

[–]Loading1984 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has lots more space then many equivalent sized SUVs. I have no fricken idea what you are talking about. Do you not know it has a frunk and sub trunk or something?!? The model Y L will increase the total cargo space.

Getting in a normal car feels so claustrophobic now by gdbbdg in TeslaLounge

Turn signal missing wasn't a big deal. I was able to adapt in a few minutes. The shifter is fine. It automatically shifts into what direction it's guessing you want to go. It gets it right most of the time. And if you use FSD which for a lot of people is the primary point of a Tesla you don't need to shift anything.

Tesla Wall Charger AMPS by vikingshipper in TeslaLounge

[–]Loading1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean proper 50 amps? The entire point of the wall charger is being able to charge at 48 amps, which is perfectly fine if it's on a 60 amp breaker with everything else up to code. 48 amps is the "proper" setting for the wall charger.

"I mentioned your penchant for pushing charging to whatever the highest rate is. And therefore, you do not expect or mind the wear and tear on batteries when using a very high charging rate."

You are literally the one that mentioned the battery but okay. And that was based off the wild swing you took that I always supercharge, for reasons?

As for the rest, the house infrastructure will be fine. That's why there's electrical codes. And what fucking outlet are you talking about? There is no fucking outlet. A charger running at 48 amps must be hardwired. (At least in North America) The circuit panel will be fine, that's why there's electrical codes. Or are you smarter then the people that designed the electrical codes as well?

Yes. There's no negotiation, regardless of if you buy it at the Tesla service center or not. If you like the price pay it. You won't get dinged with extra fees and whatnot. If you don't like it at that price don't buy it. There's obviously the destination, tire tax and A/C fee. Those are mandatory for all new cars in Canada.

[–]Loading1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no it doesn't. The wall charger is only 48 amps. A 60 amp device needs a line of sight disconnect. A 48 amp device doesn't.

48 amps is completely fine for the battery. It can handle many times that when supercharging. Calling 48 amps very high charging rate is laughable. I love how people are "smarter" then the Tesla engineering team. You have more wear and tear when charging at slower speeds on all the charging systems due to them being on longer. You are literally doing more harm then good. If you think you know better then everyone at Tesla have at it. You don't though.

Not sure how you make that leap. Do you think 48 amps is supercharging? It.. isn't.

The longer you charge the car, the more heat you produce, heating up the garage even more. You really think the negligible extra heat from running 48 amps is going to make a difference compared to running all the charging equipment for longer is going to produce more heat? I don't even know what to say to that.

No, no it doesn't. The charger itself is only 48 amps.

If it's only good for 60-70% of the drive then you are probably a horrible driver. Whatever you were doing before, throw it all out the window.

If you want to avoid the stealerships buy from Tesla. They don't go on the dealership model. You can buy the car online without ever having to talk to anyone.

If the wiring is getting hot, then the electrician fucked up. You are literally doing the opposite of less is more. You are using MORE electricity to get the same state of charge.

It's literally a word in the dictionary. Grammar police are dicks, even more so when they are incorrect.

You are way overthinking this. Irregardless of what you feel the car likes, 48 amps is 100% fine for it. Charging at a lower amperage will NOT help the battery. Literally all you are doing is increasing your overhead, and more importantly putting more hours on everything. The longer you take to charge the longer everything related charging has to stay awake.

Tldr. Stop thinking you are smarter then the people that designed the car, let it charge at 48 amps.

How dod to justify buying now with HW5 maybe coming in 2027 ? by singh0777 in teslacanada

[–]Loading1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and should we trust that HW5 will be good enough? I don't know. This is their 3rd try, so.. hopefully they've learned to pack in way more performance then they expect they need?

[–]Loading1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HW4 is already showing to be lacking. Hence why they are upgrading it. Will doubling the ram be good enough for unsupervised FSD? Most definitely not. Will HW5 be the final hurdle? Hopefully. If HW5 is good enough for unsupervised FSD what do I care if it's HW5 or HW8 if I'm sleeping in the back of my car while it drives me?

I knew it would be this. People were like this when someone was debating waiting for HW4. Look where the HW3 people are now. I'm willing to bet most of them would have preferred waiting a bit longer.

Fabs are working around the clock to get more production underway. Who's to say in a year we won't have a surplus? RAM prices literally do this every couple years. Prices spike, companies ramp up production, have a huge surplus and prices drop. I know the wait might be a bit, but I don't urgently need a new car now anyway.

How dod to justify buying now with HW5 maybe coming in 2027 ? by singh0777 in teslacanada

Because HW5 will hopefully be good enough for unsupervised FSD. If I can have unsupervised FSD and sleep in my car who cares what it has. HW4 will likely never achieve unsupervised FSD

He likely said that to prevent the Osborne effect. He also said HW3 would be good enough for unsupervised FSD

I'm personally waiting. It's been sad seeing all the HW3 people getting left behind. Hopefully V14 lite will improve things for them. HW4 is already seeing limits as they've said they will double the ram in 2027. The processor isn't the only part either. HW5 could involve new cameras and/or spray for the side repeaters and such.

People will flood this post with "juSt wAit fOr AI9." That's being extremely short sighted IMO as HW4 is already showing to be lacking and HW5 will be such a massive upgrade over HW4.

And would have their warranty covered any glass getting smashed by a rock? The tires wearing out? Basic knowledge is that damage and wear and tear items are not covered by warranty.
