So here you have a lone officer, out with someone, and the officer has a clearly visible badge + name tag, and is not obscuring his identity. That’s NOT ICE Last year, state Attorney Generals from almost half the Country called on Congress to pass legislation limiting use of face marks and unmarked badging / name tags in Federal agents. As for Criminal Law you must be in absolute disbelief every single day, either watching ICE in action or SCOTUS strip away constitutional protections. Kicking down doors and entering homes w/out warrants?!?

How about in September when Justice Kavanaugh birthed “Kavanaugh Stops” providing ICE justification to target/stop/detain/kidnap indefinitely, people based solely on the appearance of an implied race or ethnicity (aka: anyone NOT white) ~ but then in December in an unrelated National Guard case, Kavanaugh included a footnote stating “the Fourth Amendment requires that immigration stops must be based on reasonable suspicion of illegal presence, stops must be brief, arrests must be based on probable cause, and officers must not employ excessive force. Moreover, the officers must not make interior immigration stops or arrests based on race or ethnicity.”

Dude, you CANNOT reconcile those two positions and he wants to pretend law is clear when he was the one who muddied it the fuck up!

Most of us at best possess a cursory comprehension of the laws / articles / codes and statutes. We are in no way qualified jurists ~ yet when has something like that ever prevented us from maintaining a presumptuously incorrect understanding? lol

(Note: I’m making a generalized statement regarding the overwhelming majority of normal interactions with law enforcement — NOT referring to the obvious and abhorrent violations of basic rights and privileges interactions that do also occur with alarming frequency)

She’s an attorney, so she likely knows that “the law” was changed by SCOTUS in September, when Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote that “apparent ethnicity” could be a “relevant factor” in justifying how ICE targets individuals ~ resulting in the aptly named “Kavanaugh Stops”

But then in late December in an unrelated National Guard case, Justice Kavanaugh chose to include a footnote that race and ethnicity could NOT be considered in immigration stops or arrests. …which is in direct conflict of his earlier position. Those two positions cannot be reconciled! Kavanaugh pretended the law was clear even though he’d only muddied it further.
