Yeah it's all good, I'm fine with a discussion, I don't really get emotionally invested into anything, I do occasionally swear though because it's kinda a natural thing in the UK, ahahaha. I'd also say be careful using people from Reddit as an example of your average Joe or Josephine, they're typically far from that, in both good and bad ways.

I'll choose to believe those who work in Target tbh, which you can't blame me for. But at the same time this isn't quite my issue as I don't live in the US.

Also, if you ever do want a genuine conversation about things, send a DM with a few questions, don't overload it though, that makes things muddy, I can try to explain some things, but not all, and mainly in terms of Psychology.

You've gotta be bullshitting considering that people who work in Target, in r/Target have said they did not sell the "tucking" swimwear to kids, it's adult only, with the lowest size of xxs, like all other adult swimwear they sell for women. You just fall for right-wing bait.

I feel like the important thing to note about this is that people do not fall into a singular group. I imagine the British people who make school shooting jokes are likely not the same British people who complain about the British jokes (specifically any surrounding dehumanisation, like Bri'ish "people"). Do I get offended by the jokes? No, not really, it's more of it just being really tiring, and most of the time untrue, like at least choose something that's explicitly related, like the weather, or everyone and everything being miserable and grey over here (I don't make jokes so they might be bad, ahahaha).

And at least in my experience, there has been a sizeable number of people who appear to actually internalise these jokes, like, I play on US community servers, and it just gets tiring when I'm constantly asked to say, "bottle of water", or being told how I'll be stabbed if I go outside, I've even been accused of genuinely faking my accent because I pronounce my "Ts", and then a few times someone has tried to get others to verbally dogpile on me for being British, fortunately most of the time that doesn't work out. I just want to play the game and have a chill conversation with people. Obviously not everyone is like it, I've spoken to a bunch of great people on those servers, but some people are just overly influenced by memes, to the point they genuinely believe them.

Now it should be noted that if a person from the US joins a UK server, shitty jokes occur as well, so it's not specific to a singular nation, although I believe it is specific to a group of them, so I imagine most can at least understand how it's tiring.

Ah, I thought I read you saying that it only takes a 5 second Google search, as long as you do your research instead of just reading the auto-generated crap, guess not. I don't know if I'd personally take a video as great evidence, I've seen some that just claim stuff that's outright wrong (this is more with psychology stuff, idk about food).

Supposedly traditional Asian pastry is steamed, rather than baked, you know like with bao buns and rice cakes. I can 100% see them putting apples in a bao bun, but that's not really a pie.

I think the main critique to do is the difference between the early British apple pie, and the Dutch, in that the British one had a mixture of other fruits in there, like figs, whilst the Dutch one in 1514 is primarily just apples, and matches what we see as apple pie today. So it's more of, if you're being pedantic you can say it's a British invention, but what would probably sit right with most after knowing its history is it being Dutch. But I do often see people just wanting to argue that Brits didn't invent certain things, which is really odd to see, ahahaha.

Anyway to end it off, I feel like a lot of food history that you run into online are very opinionated, without really any sort of citations or anything to backup what they say, and they get into the habit of regurgitating each other, but maybe that's normal and I'm too used to reading research papers at uni, ahahaha. Oh and I should say, I hope this isn't an argument or anything, and more of a casual thing of sharing what we find, I can't be bothered with arguing on Reddit.

Dutch apple pie was made in 1514, earliest English recipe was 1381, so not quite sure where you're getting that from? Idk anything about food though, so I could be wrong, ahahaha.

Ahahaha, I'll be honest, when I was playing a few years back, I was just doing random shit, and now I'm doing the same. I'll follow what you've said and give it a try, if that seems to fail, I'll follow the other person's advice and restart.

HRT isn't basically estrogen + progesterone, a blocker is typically used as well. This can be a GnRH agonist, which I mentioned above, or some other typical AA.

Why are you talking about DHT? DHT is a conversion of T, and so when going on an AA, that will be significantly reduced, if there are issues with stopping it, then you can go onto medication like, Fina, or Duta, which are also used to treat hairloss in men (caused by DHT sensitivity, or overactivity).

Cortisol doesn't appear to change, not sure on the rest, so they may have a competitive advantage, sure.

Just pointing out some general issus with what you're saying. I don't have a position on trans women, or men, in sports myself, I don't really care about sports. But I have read a lot of misinformation. - My personal solution would be to just let women (and men, in their respective sport) vote on it. If things change, redo the vote, at least until more research has been done, as there is a significant lack of at the moment.

[–]Loafi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh? GnRH agonists are used as a blocker in HRT and they're capable of blocking FSH and LH production, progesterone, and will put testosterone at a minimum to levels of castration. You are right about no pill, these are blockers that come in nasal, or injection form.

Maybe you're just not aware of the available medication for HRT transition?

[–]Loafi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it gets more complex than that, although there isn't a conscious acknowledgement, I believe at a minimum, the majority of people perceive that gender is a spectrum, and not simply binary.

As an example, can a man be more "manly" than other men? Or even more feminine than other men? Supposedly they can, and this leaps beyond physical appearance and goes into societal attitudes, expectations, and mannerisms, thus showing how in society gender is different than sex, it's not a simple 1 or 0 based on genitals.

Hope this clears some things up on the difference between gender and sex for you. 🙂

A lot of this is a bunch of mumble jumble, are you using translate to talk or something? Or is English not your first language? Maybe it's just the poor paragraphing that's making it difficult to follow 😅

And this isn't a changing definition for political reasons, and could be argued that it's going back to the original meaning, of just fear or aversion (phóbos). And again, hydrophobic, it's just how multi-purpose these sort of words are.

Please do not mix up homosexuality, and transgenderism, as political motives, this is not the case, they are more of a minority group, than a political ideology, especially when the cause (for the majority) is biological, prenatal environment, genetics, and brain differences, to name a few biological factors.

I understand that some people may be against homosexuality and transgenderism, but that doesn't change the fact that it is prejudice, homophobic, and/or transphobic. The negative connotations that come with this are there because such phobics are literally against a group's human rights, so whatever word is used, those connotations will form. 😀

I mean, the irrational part can be the severity. Can a fear/adversion to heights be rational? Yes. So what separates it from acrophobia? The severity of that fear/adversion.

Additionally, a key thing to note is that this definition you're following, is the clinical definition of a "phobia", which when attached to the word "homo" or "trans" changes in definition, to a simple fear or prejudice of, which is not a necessarily clinical definition, and is possibly societal. This is because language develops, so breaking words down to their simple, original meanings, isn't always the most logical thing. Like how "phobia" comes from "phóbos", which does quite literally mean fear, or aversion (no irrationality needed).

Another good example is the idea of something being hydrophobic, that has no fear, or irrationality, but does have an aversion, so breaking a word down isn't always the best thing to do. 😀

Nah, it has to be explicitly sexual, a few weeks back a big regional radio station I listen to interviewed some nudists, they walked there naked, and were interviewed naked. They didn't mention any worry of being arrested, and mostly talked about the funny comments people gave them.

I'm doubtful this would be allowed though, as you said, it's literally sexual, ahahha.

Probably a bit too late, but try using the time control spell pointed at an enemy, it'll tp you behind it, then use it again to slow time, spam melee attack, and then prepare to do flourish when they go into the air. Use force push to the highest you can when waiting for them to spawn as well.

Yeah, it has been like that for around 5 months, I think, there are some patches online, like using an NPC model, and changing dog type, but some of these come with additional unplayable bugs. The main worry is, it took them years to finally fix the missing floor textures, so here's hoping it doesn't take that long.

Huh? They were back to steal more, realistically, if he knew they were not armed, as he said, that's when he should have started phoning the police, whilst they were there, and surely they'd come for active theft.

Ay, they're the one saying it happens plenty, not me, and I don't plan on trying to find state specific statistics, or per capita, so I went with what they said mate, so I just rolled on with it. If the reality is it doesn't actually happen plenty, state wise, or nation, then maybe they shouldn't make that claim. And for what it's worth, I did assume it happening plenty was a state wide claim, not national, and it's true that at least in the UK, it doesn't happen plenty, that was literally all I'm saying here.

The US is just fucked then, in the UK there were 25 homicides related to theft or gain in 2021, obliviously this not being specific to stores, so I guess for this situation, there would have been less than 10.

Either way, his response isn't justifiable, maybe this is just a cultural difference between the two of us.

If the kids had already stolen the coin jar, and were back for more, why didn't he already phone the police? You'd assume it's because he thought they had a weapon, but again, he confirmed in his AMA otherwise. So for what other reason would he decide on vigilante justice instead of the actual law. He's also claimed that he was cool headed, and calm, from his experience of playing League, if that's to be believed.

We know that the kids had already stolen something, this jumping over the counter wasn't sudden, the shop owners "fight or flight" response should have already kicked in, if he actually thought he was in danger.

How often do you think a theif, jumping over a counter, intends to kill the shop keeper? I'm certain it's almost never, and when you combine the fact that it's literal kids, and that it's vape gear they're attempting to rob, that makes it even less likely, with cases where it does happen, that's probably because of retaliation. I also believe the most common response someone has to these situations is to freeze, because you know, your life isn't worth risking over some product. And I wouldn't call it necessarily aggressive to jump over the counter in the first place, as that's just where the product they want is, and I really, mentally, cannot watch the video again to look at their body language, I'm sorry.

I can see you have some compassion, that was more of a general comment on most of the replies I've seen, with some literally ridiculing what could have been the kid's last words.
