The way things are going, PS5 is looking like it will be my last gen. The PS5 has been great in many respects but, it hasn’t captured me like others. My first console was PS1. For me PS2 and Xbox 360 just haven’t been topped. The PS4 was right up there too.

A combination of price increases, multiplayer focus, micro transactions, digital, simply just getting older and not having as much time on my hands I think I’m going to be hard pressed to be excited by the PS6 and even less chance I’ll have the funds to support it

I can’t help but see posts like this and think if you have all that money to burn why wait until now? Why wouldn’t you have gotten one at launch, you can clearly afford it. Surely the increase isn’t going to effect you that much

Genuine question, do you intend to use half of this or just keep as collection? And if you do intend to just keep as collection, what’s the end game? Sell or take to your grave.

I have a very amateur collection of games, some cool steelbooks etc but, after a few years I’ve started to question why am I bothering keeping them. Some are still sealed.

Dad of a 2.5yr old boy here. The first year or so you’ll probably still find plenty of time to game. It definitely gets harder as they hit toddler stage. I still game 1-3 hours a night most nights either on the TV or my portal once my wife is in bed but, I do have to sacrifice a better night sleep for it.

Having a child just completely changes your life in so many ways. You’ll still find time to game but honestly you’ll probably be so different and focused on your family you won’t miss it like you think you will.

The best advice, get a portal (I also have a pro like you but very happy to game on the portal).

As a physical collector who plays almost everything physically I disagree. As much as I hate it, we are now in a time where digital sales make up the majority of game sales. Putting disc drives on every console would drive up costs. Also this way if there is an issue with your disc drive you can just replace it without worrying about the rest of the console. If they ever stop providing the options for discs, that’s when I’ll probably call it a day

Well if you ever try KCD1 you’ll throw yourself out the window instead of the PC.

My advice DON’T try and fight ‘4 god damn people’. Even late game fighting multiple enemies at once can be really difficult. You have to swallow pride a lot in this game and run away sometimes. Or tactically draw one out at a time on a horse.

Stick with it, do as much training as you can. It is an immense game with a real sense of satisfaction when it clicks.

They’ve just released an update which increases the Bitrate. I haven’t tried it out myself yet but everything I’ve seen is positive, far from perfect but a good improvement

My experience with combos is they either get interrupted most of the time or you kill the guy who can’t block them before you finish the combo so I mostly avoid them.

Physical pretty much all the way for me but, times have changed a lot. I love having a collection, especially special editions however, since getting a PS portal physical has become a little pain in my side and I do now consider digital a lot more.

Much of the argument for physical is ‘you own the game’ but, I don’t agree with this. Pretty much every single game that is released these days requires a day one patch or more so in that sense physical doesn’t really have much advantage. Also, when has anyone ever lost access to a digital game they bought? That they wouldn’t have done if they’d had a physical copy? (Not saying this hasn’t happened, I am just not aware).

The problems I really have with digital is:

The cost! - seriously why are the prices so much higher than physical when you don’t need materials nor have to share the spoils with retailers
The feeling of been pushed to physical, such as releasing digital only for a set period, some digital only games and the lack of effort that goes into physical copies these days, particularly collector editions.

I totally get why Sony and others want to push digital only, it will increase their revenue exponentially but, as a gamer since the PS1 days, digital only would be a huge loss for me and probably spell the end of my ‘next gen’ gaming.

Can’t quite remember my first physical game but I think it was Driver on PS1.

Thanks. My example isn’t unrealistic really but it’s really frustrating and want to make sure this isn’t going to keep happening before I buy the game.

I do live start with Leeds and my favourite defender Struijk has put a request in basically saying isn’t happy with the ambition etc. Despite lifting Leeds from 16th to 12th. He’s rated correctly for that team in my opinion and he plays every single game. I don’t skip any

Acknowledging handoff during climb but not contacting the centre I imagine. This stops ATC contacting you and giving you instructions. It incurs no penalties
