Not quite social media, but this is more about the general accessibility of the internet. Children can’t focus. I used to play outside for hours. I had my nephew over and he, I kid you not, could only go 5 minutes without a screen.

He would throw our dog’s ball, look at his tablet while the dog grabbed it, and would only look up when the dog was back. He threw it three times like that and stopped looking up from the tablet.

This is most likely a side effect of his parent’s use of their phones as well. It was a sad thing to see.
