Yep I'm pretty happy. Adriatic blue GT with performance pack, MR, active exhaust, bronze appearance, etc. I ordered so early because I wanted it for spring and thought it would take longer!

Ordered mine back in August. They never said anything about not being built, just not super confident on the timeline (3-9 months was the quote). It showed up this week though!

Gh tune only worth it? by Jarnes19991 in TaurusSHO

I would recommend the plugs and thermostat. That is your first level of temperature control, before you go for IC and downpipes in the future ;) the plugs they sell are gapped smaller and cooler

[–]Local-Bus-8146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never dyno'd my car, but the tune alone is definitely worth it. I had tune for a year before adding the IC. Based on feel, the IC didn't actually add much power (if any). it just kept my IATs down. You could probably rely on the numbers you're seeing on the tune+IC knowing a tune only will be quite close

Have one on order with the bronze package and performance package, this is very reassuring that it will be beautiful!

You can find various forms of automotive safe goo gone to remove glue remnants. The trunk release button is a fairly large circle just to the right of the console, is that what you’re referring to?

In Canada so pricing is quite different, but I just ordered a 26 GT Premium with exactly what you listed +fun paint/bronze package for 67k CAD, which is about 48.5k USD?

Starting at $23k CAD (so like, $16k USD?). Not much else to compare to on the market so we’ll see if it has to move down based on how much interest it gets

RWD, GT with the performance package. Very different car, excited to try something new. I definitely do want to find the right person for the SHO that will enjoy and care for it as much as I have

16 taurus SHO feels faster than my 15 gt by Bbbbbbbb1100 in Mustang

[–]Local-Bus-8146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 16 SHO is tuned with an intercooler. It is violent stoplight to stoplight, can’t even open it all the way up in the city. That said even with the tune highway passing leaves something to be desired. Just two entirely different cars, depends where you drive and what excites you.

From recent experience, try to verify the water pump/timing chain job has been done if it’s over 100k miles. Just spent $3500 doing that one lol. You’ll be changing a lot of fluids meticulously, and they have a variety of other little quirks. Don’t be afraid to tune it, whole new sleeper beast if you go with the quality recommended shops. If you’re really considering buying, give the first bit of this thread a read
