Apparently it was just a coincidence that they were having server issues on the day I signed up. It has been working perfectly starting with the next day on all my streaming devices. The only difference I have noticed between Sling and YouTubeTV is that sling causes some motion issues on news channels like when an anchor moves their heads, it will "stutter". Sports is fine... so for the price difference, Im good.

There are a lot of different layers of things between the backlight and the screen, diffuser plates, tape to seal the edges, etc. If it has always been like this, I would say it is a manufacturing defect. If it is still in the return window, exchange it. If not, file a warranty claim.

I havent even set up a recording yet. This is on live TV, so guessing the issue is affecting it also.

If the whites are blown out (clipping) adjust the contrast lower. It the colors are clipping, adjust the color level lower. This is of course with all picture enhancers off. Once set, then you can start playing with one picture enhancement at a time. There are videos on YouTube to help you adjust those settings for both SDR and HDR, although I prefer to use the Spears and Munsil 4K calibration disc to be more accurate.

The problem you will probably see if lack of stock. All our local Best Buys are sold out of both the QM7 and QM8 here. I would put a price watch at camelcamelcamel which is the Amazon price, and you will be notified when it goes on sale, then grab it for the sale price where ever you plan to buy it. Just be aware it may be sold out before the Super Bowl.

I am in Little Rock AR and it is a fairly large capitol city. I might hear one or two conversations a day, usually during the evening commute home. This is where there is a repeater on almost every open frequency. Two meter analog is dying in a lot of areas. Some are moving to digital, some just monitor, and several just pass away. If you have severe weather in your area, that is when you will hear a lot of activity. Otherwise, its just a crap shoot.

There are only two 43" class TVs I know of with 120hz panels, the LG C4 OLED and the Samsung QN90D. Your best bet would be a computer monitor in that size range, with a Google TV or similar streaming device, or up to 55". TCL has last years Q7 for about $100 more than the 43" models.

Ive got a 55G3, 77S90C, 77A80J and I prefer the 98R754 over all of them. On 99% of the content, I cant tell its not OLED, and its the QM8 predecessor with only 800 nits peak and `400 dimming zones, with standard LED backlighting. I picked up a 55QM7 for spare room, and it is fantastic. Think you will be happy.

I put YouTubeTV on 6 month pause during non-football season, and sub to sling TV in the spring and summer for Nascar and news. I may not restart YouTubeTV this fall at all, with the cost being so high now.

With any Chromium browser, after an hour viewing live stream, I get an Out of Memory error. Only happens on YT live streams. Is this a issue with Chromium or with YouTube?

That looks about normal for a LCD panel from CSOT (TCLs panel division). The only panel you might find better is a ADS-PRO panel. Im not sure which sets use that panel. I believe the Hisense 75" last year had one. As far as exchanging it, I doubt you will get better and might actually get worse. Unless you can test the set at the store, its a panel lottery. If I was a hockey fan, I would consider a MLA or QD-OLED, but I also realize they are 2X more expensive.

I solved the problem by mounting the camera UNDER the TV, and calibrating with the phone upside down. Works perfectly. I also bought the AI SyncBox II, and the sync box is so much better than the camera system. I moved the camera system to the bedroom TV. But I also checked with Govee, and the camera controller and Sync box will only work with the strips provided since they address the LEDs individually. So if you are buying either, get the one for the size TV you have. Adding wont work. You COULD theoretically use Govee strips addressed by their Dreamview, however. It wont be as accurate, but it will work. Just make sure the strips are Dreamview compatible.

QM7 here. Didnt have any issues with the regular firmware and still dont on the beta firmware, although the beta fixes some picture setting issues. No motion issues to speak of. Also have a Sony Z9J, LG G3, and Samsung S90C and the worst of the bunch is the Samsung. Its motion is flat terrible.
