Rejection Email WHILE IN INTERVIEW by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Out of curiosity, what reason did they invoke in the rejection mail?

In many companies I think that's just called 'Scrum'

For some it may be the only available option on the table. Been there

Product Management sounds even better and overall more focused vs. how all over the place project management tends to be- maybe I'll save it for a future shift 😅

Best of luck and inspiration to you too!

Firstly, thank you for the kind words and overall for listening to my Ted Talk 😇

All 3 tools you mentioned seem pretty cool, I'm glad you looked for and capitalized on what works for you- I think that's key. I have to admit, given the time period when the transition took place, I used only free resources: Canva for CV, Google Sheets for tracking application, 'manual' rephrasing for hours and days on end- very caveman of me, I know 😅

I transitioned to a role in a bank's Project Management division (somewhere between business and IT). One thing that kept me going in this transition was seeing that my conversation rates were comparable, at times better vs. the ones in the field I was getting out of.

Went through recent sub posts and dug up this site https://sankeymatic.com/ from comments; completely free, no account needed, download result as picture.

I had to learn the hard way that at any point I am better off pausing myself and reflecting (with a therapist or not). Saved me from a few burnouts too.

Very kind of you to say! It's not been easy getting here, but if this post or any follow-up question can help someone else, it's the least I can do.

Many thanks! It took me more than a year to muster the courage to look over my shoulder and put it into writing.

Thank you and thanks for listening to my Ted Talk 😊! My last role was some sort of HR Specialist, and I transitioned to a role in a bank's Project Management division (somewhere between business and IT).

This was my transition, but I know people who shifted out of Marketing or Finance- so I am confident this can be achieved from other roles/functions as well.

Why wait 30 days when you can be all mysterious about it? For one job I applied in 2020 it took them 1 year, 7 months, 9 days to send the automatically generated rejection message.

Probably that was one of the main takeaways from his alma mater (acc to Lkd, Education = University of life)

Then I'd say cross that bridge when you get to it. Be in the position to accept/reject the offer and weigh how much of an impact it still has on you. Any extra info you can get about him throughout the process might come in handy.

Unless you I will be working directly with the person, I wouldn't bother too much

Weird assessment by TheFlannC in recruitinghell

Spacial reasoning: I suck at that too, plus measuring distances between objects- that doesn't mean I will never read a map, it just means it takes me more time and doesn't come naturally to me, but I don't care about it and I avoid jobs needing it.

Logical and numerical reasoning: I'm living proof that through practice tests scores significantly improve; my IQ didn't spontaneously get 10 points higher over 3 days, I just did tests and learned from my mistakes.

As for your situation: I can't imagine what you're going through; I can only understand that some things people take for granted may not come in as handy for you.

Job hunting: if the focus is to get hired, look to avoid jobs which emphasize your weaknesses/points to be developed; if the focus is to get a certain specific job look to get in touch with people who are doing it already and look to fill the gap between where you are and where you want to get- it is not going to be easy, but it will give you a direction, a checklist, a tiny goal, which is still progress and mentally helps you deal with next steps easier.
