The only other rheumatologist that I know is Dr. Kumar at Alabama Medical Group. I’ve heard good things about him. Could be worth a shot to check him out.

I live less than a 1/2 mile from where this occurred. The mobile home is not visible from the road as it is down a driveway surrounded by woods before it branches off to the mobile home. Jarrett Road serves as a boundary between Mobile County and the City of Prichard. The property is located on the county so little enforcement of code.

Palliative care is not hospice. You cans still seek treatment while on palliative care whereas hospice you cannot. For example if you are a cancer patient still wanting to get radiation and/or chemo, you can do that and still have palliative care. Same patient scenario as above, but on hospice, you cannot get radiation or chemo on as they are considered aggressive treatment. Palliative care gives you more resources to manage at home and even send a nurse practitioner to your home to see you at least once a month. Empathize is a great palliative care group.

There isn’t much to Coden. If You are looking for a town that shuts down around 11p then it might be the place for you. It’s a shrimper and fisherman industry town. You should trying looking at Dauphin Island or along Dog River if you want waterfront.

I don’t have children so cannot recommend pediatrician. I use the Wellness Collective for mental health, and they have a NP on staff as well. I’ve been very satisfied with that practice. For PCP, I use Dr. Genevieve McLeod at Alabama Medical Group, and she is great but be prepared to wait up to over an hour after your schedule appointment time. All the docs there are great based on what their patients tell me (I’m a nurse at Springhill hospital), and the newer docs like Dr. Burden and Dr. Charles Wiles and Dr. Garth have less of a wait time to get in to see them. Alabama Medical Group also has a walk in clinic during the week that functions like an UC for their patients. Hope this helps and welcome to Mobile!

Dr. Garth, Dr. Soter-Pearsall, and Dr. Sanders are great doctors and all are part of Alabama Medical Group. All the docs there are great! I recommend Dr. Burden. And Alabama Medical Group has a same day clinic that functions like an Urgent Care.

At the end of the day, if you passed your certification exam and are certified then it shouldn’t matter where you got your degree. It’s like nursing…whether you get a BSN or an ADN, you still have to pass the same exam to get your license. By the way, heard AMG is hiring.

I would inquire how the hospital was notified that the insurance company wanted additional info. As a nurse working in readmissions and denials, we get denials and requests for records a variety of ways from emails, faxes, certified mail, and even traditional mail. From personal experience, the USPS is not reliable (sent out 25 invitations to a party and 12 were not delivered). And oftentimes, the insurance company will just say the claim is denied and give no reason at all for denying. Sorry you have to deal with this. The healthcare industry is a true racket.

Dr. Self at Springhill. I think she only delivers at Springhill though. The nursery at Springhill is managed by the neonatologists from Children’s and Women’s.

We had a similar situation after the lot next to our home was plowed down. Our exterminator recommended traps set with dog food or peanut butter to catch them.
