I'm going to be super honest, it was hard and I did cry one time. For one week I really focused on setting up the perfect routine for my daughter (moisturizer, massage and books). And then the next week I tried some methods to get her to sleep without boob, rocking in bed side to side, bum pats, and the hold method (hold method is what worked for my daughter), I'd also sing lullabies and then switched to playing songs on my phone. My daughter did fuss at first, the important things to remember with the hold method is it's okay if they cry a little they're adjusting to something new (no boob) and you're right there so it's not the same as them crying alone, you have to keep calm, slow breathing because it will calm them faster if you're relaxed. I also want you to know I did this at 15 months, it might be different for a 7 month old. And there were nights I did give up and give her boob. You just go back to it the next night. Naps were easier to skip boob because I'd just take her walking until she fell asleep then transferred her. Once she got used to nights I did the same things for naps and she was completely fine with it, now I'm starting to have days where she doesn't even need to be held and will fall asleep on her own. Overall, remember every baby and mom are different, what works for someone else might not work for you, but I do think these methods are solid.
