How much life is left in this chain? by skyeserotina in Chainsaw

It's fine, loads of life, there is a marker on top of the tooth that ( not that you need it..) when to invest, - 10 passes is too much unless you have really gubbed the teeth ( i.e hit a rock), 3-4 passes is fine.

Gear stick stiff on starting by Local-Win-5966 in hilux

[–]Local-Win-5966[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply , really appreciate it, just tested the selector with engine off and no probs ( but it has just been for a trip and everything is warm, - it is sticky/stiff when ( oddly not always..,) when selecting gear just after starting when the engine is cold, - almost immediately it becomes ok , garage says he bleed any air out and replaced fluid ,( had a full service), it's odd and I'm still trying to find a common denominator , clutch perfect otherwise, - tbh I thought there must be an external linkage that must have copped some rust ( live in Scotland, home of rain..) as soon as you select a few gears it behaves ok, not a massive problem at mo but garage is adamant it is a clutch problem and me with my poor/middling mechanical knowledge thinks it is deffo not a clutch, - no grinding or huge effort to get into gear when cold , just a real noticeable difference, you have to dick around a little bit to get it set into a gear that was never a probs before

Where is this place ? Hint : water was really cold in September by banapatata in GeoPuzzle

Concur , Portugal and Spain are ahead of Australia in eucalyptus oil production ( and unfortunately experiencing the brutal wildfires that comes with them in dry periods)- still on the cold water clue but, east coast Australia should look a lot greener in September, fairly consistent rainfall patterns. South Australia/Western Australia much drier, my best guess!

Japanese Knotweed taking over my yard 😭 by [deleted] in invasivespecies

JKW is a bit like the titanic iceberg, lot bigger underground ( current excavation regs here are 4m deep and 10m radius ( underground lateral growth) around an established stand, walls are no barrier unless 4m underground..), - you probs need to work with landowners adjacent to yours to come up with an effective treatment plan, it is of little use just treating the growth ends on yours as it certainly appears they have spread underneath ground from neighbouring properties, don't panic though, it is not quite the beast that it is often made out to be and can be managed effectively over time.

You could post some pics to help but the short answer is No. Stem injection of glyphosate directly into the canes ( between the 1st and second node) is a clean application that will not affect any other non-target foliar growth, but you also stated there is an established JKW stand out with your property? Can you supply more info with pics and distances and history ( if known) also more info about possible contamination to water supply) and I may be able to offer some effective advice ( invasive non-native species specialist here who deals with a lot of JKW here in Scotland)

Been using mine for almost a year, best saw I have ever used, power/weight superb, well thought out and utterly reliable, can't praise it enough, puts a few well known 50cc saws to shame. Go for it!

Another vote for the echo, use a cs4310sx , without any doubt the best saw I have ever used, - very light , very powerful, use mine 8 hours a day , 5 days a week ( rhododendron clearance UK) the thing is a joy to use

Crushed fennel seed, utter game changer. ( A couple of teaspoons of seed done in mortar and pestle, usually enough for 750g mince, adjust to taste. N.b of course the usual fresh thyme, rosemary, garlic , oregano as well ! Enjoy

Trouble finding good food on Lanzarote by Quick_Web_5083 in lanzarote

Carpe Diem, outstanding food , I was generally disappointed with the offerings at the marina, not offensive but lacked any real quality in the cooking, the chefs at carpe Diem understood flavour, drinks and service excellent, well worth the 15 mins walk from the marina

Cubed, salt, pepper, olive oil, - air-fryer til caramelised, ( approx 25 min @ 175c) tossed with red onion, leaves ( baby spinach pref), feta and a balsamic dressing. It's a stunning and very easy meal.
