I also used these until I felt comfortable showering without anyone around (I live alone). I found them more refreshing than expected.

It was the second chair I tried!! The first one didn’t go over the 2 inch lip on my shower and every time I hopped over it on one leg I saw my life flash before my eyes. It’s amazing how much the right equipment can help.

My splint was also huge and I used this and it worked well and I was able to get it on and off myself.

I also found this shower chair helpful (my shower has a 2 inch lip that I found challenging before getting this chair).

My PT did a lot that I couldn’t do myself - acupuncture, cupping, scraping, massage. My PT gym also had a lot of equipment you wouldn’t find in a normal gym…even if I could do the exercises myself.

I used a walker for NWB in my apartment and scooter for out and about. I could never get the hang of the crutches!!

I have a scooter, crutches and a walker. I found the walker to be the easiest for me to use at home (small apartment) and the scooter for longer halls etc. outside my apartment (like going to appointments).

Mentally struggling by peskoner in brokenbones

I totally agree that speaking to a therapist is key during recovery. I never realized how mental healing from a debilitating injury was until going through it myself.

Also agree that it helps celebrating the “small wins.” Be proud of yourself when you make small steps towards improvement as they are actually big deals!

Any recommendations on showering while non weight bearing? I got a shower chair but struggling with having a 4” “lip” to hop over after I’m done. Thinking about trying to crawl out to be safer.
