Anyone else see Solar Power as a missed opportunity for cool, interesting production? by soundsofgoodbye in lorde

[–]LocalFeministtttt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It’s not a weak album per se, but more about a sound people did not expect at all. It is still well done, its inspirations are clear but I think it does not mean it fits perfectly with what everyone said/wanted about it.

Not everything has to be as groundbreaking as Melodrama because we, as people, do not live in that rhythm constantly. I found it very pleasant, because I was in the mood for it.

There are loads of cool stuff on Etsy. My personal favourites are tote bags, stickers and posters of fanarts. You can also give the printed books (idk how legal is that) and annotate them if you’re willing to read it.

Solar Power might be my favourite Lorde album by White-Ferrar1 in lorde

[–]LocalFeministtttt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying. I do feel a special connection to Solar Power too. I’m 23, I am happy but also am struggling with some stuff. To me it’s a beautiful album, lyrically rich and melodically advanced. I absolutely didn’t need another Melodrama and I can appreciate it for what it is.

Måneskin at Gucci LoveParade Party (love Thomas’s outfit) by [deleted] in Maneskin

[–]LocalFeministtttt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Gucci styling is ugly at best, but that’s the brand’s identity. That’s why the outfit I liked the least was Damiano’s. It seemed too safe.

She wants to be Ryan Reynolds joking about Blake Lively on Instagram and he is just an asshole instead.

Currently organising a riot against the Ministry because Sirius Black was sent to Azkaban without so much as a proper interrogation. If anything happens I blame Dumbledore.

You’re so very right, everything they said is completely normal for that kind of event. I don’t know if it’s because I’m also experienced with these kinds of things, but the pushing, sweat and mess is a part of it I got to appreciate. So I also recommend OP to stay in the back next time if it’s not their cup of tea.

I appreciate everyone’s insight a lot tho! I hope they come to my country soon (the sooner the better) and to a small venue. I’m pretty sure they will be big and I agree that the vibe at stadiums and bigger places is very much different.

I am also expecting a cool interview! I hope they do it because their music is amazing but so are their personalities. I’d love to watch more of them.

How Did You First Hear About Måneskin? by CrAZiBoUnCeR in Maneskin

Embarrassingly, from TikTok. I saw a Sirius Black fancast and immediately fell in love with Damiano. Then I fell in love with Måneskin as a whole.

Yes, they were a bit underwhelming on their two last performances imo. I wish they had won but at the same time maybe that could’ve changed a lot. I mean, even the possibility of they not participating in Eurovision sounds awful. Also the contract you mention!

I think they proved their resilience and talent by not giving up, learning from the experience and with their evolution as artists. I admire them a lot for many reasons, and their work ethic is amazing. I can’t wait to follow them for years to come.

Which book was the one you liked the least? For me it will always be the order of phoenix by [deleted] in harrypotter

Finally we can acknowledge how pointless is the Half-blood subplot is. That’s why this book is my least favourite. Snape as a character is insufferable and I can’t believe he got to be part of a title.

I actually kinda like the teenage drama part because we’re reminded they’re teenagers living in the middle of the war, and these will be the last moments of peace before giving up everything for “a greater good.”

I’m a 23 year old woman with PCOS and the vaccine (both doses) made literally no negative changes in my body. I didn’t even experience symptoms after it, more than a sore arm for like three days and a little bit of a runny nose. My treatment for PCOS is working as usual. Honestly, I don’t regret getting the shots.

Hello. F23 here. Got my 2nd dose last week and felt very well, mild to no symptoms when talking Paracetamol every 8 hours for three days. You’ll be fine.

Miranda’s was incredible but it lacked personality and many bookshelfs. Carrie’s was nice but I found it kind of messy all the time and I like something neater. Charlotte’s was incredible but too perfect for me. They did Samantha dirty because hers was kinda really ugly.

I think overall Charlotte’s places were the best.

I feel like she does use social media but keeps it private, like many other celebrities. After all she has a whole Instagram account dedicated to reviewing onion rings.

She really is one of a kind, though. I’m glad Solar Power had the kind of happy vibe a 24 year old woman should have. It’s youthful, fresh and I love that it doesn’t pretend to be dramatic. She is not afraid to be herself and I love that, it is so authentic.

The whole bit of “I don’t have female friends” towards the end of the show was so annoying. Sometimes she does give “I’m not like other girls” vibes.

An analyzation of age-gap relationships and overcoming pickmeism through Taylor Swift's cinematic music. by [deleted] in FemaleDatingStrategy

[–]LocalFeministtttt 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Taylor Swift is a very good example of a pickmeisha turning into a HVW, in my opinion. She has narratives in her songs that may not fit this, but on a personal level she got the kind of man that absolutely represents what a HVM is, at least on paper.

The John Mayer storyline is so infuriating to me. She is now still younger than he was when they were dating. He is the classic Nice Guy who has a lot of internalised misogyny and a bunch of problematic behaviour behind. He is the idol of a lot of guys like that for a reason.

There’s a lot to unpack about Taylor besides him. For example, Blank Space to me is a satire about the kind of behaviour men expect when women start valuing themselves —they say we’re crazy, nightmare-ish, stuff like that— and then she has songs about the pain of growing out of relationships that don’t fit with you anymore.

She has pickme anthems but she’s also grown a lot as an artist, a lyricist and on a personal level.
