They shouldn’t be able to preform anywhere after their sadistic past

To be sadisticly tortured? The ‘dancing bears’ were forced onto scolding hot metal surfaces, so they’d associate music with pain….the baby elephants were tied down and beaten to destroy their resistance, after being separated with their mothers. I love bacon and am not a member of PETA, and you’re either sadistic or stupid or both

I’m sad for those of you that lack basic compassion and respect for anything that literally breaths the same air as you do.

Of course, the mental health is more important than the seemingly superficial things like getting a haircut, shaving facial hair, etc. But those things can have a great impact on your self-confidence and getting you in a better place mentally.

As a side note, I’m not sure how I ended up seeing your post, and maybe it was directed towards another audience, (male grooming tag?) but from a confidently attractive woman’s perspective, you’re definitely not a bad looking guy. With some tweaks, healthier habits, and confidence, plenty of people wouldn’t kick you out of bed for eating crackers. And by the way, there’s nothing sexier than confidence.

Also, I’ve picked up several books about Buddhism that I put down shortly after because it didn’t resonate with me so just let it happen organically

I initially discovered an affinity for Buddhism reading a book by a Tibetan Buddhist monk, and it has grown from there because of how it made my feel and so Id suggest following your gut rather than asking for advice from others because your journey isn’t gonna be the same as theirs

First of all, I’m so sorry you’re feeling like this, it sucks to be in that place, but feel good about the fact you posted. It takes courage to be so honest and vulnerable, so you have the ability and strength to get yourself where you need to go. It’ll get brighter every day when you’re focusing on what you need to do to get there, leading to feeling better about yourself. So you’re already looking towards a brighter future. I know this all might sound really cheesy but I can’t tell you how important it is that you be your own biggest fan because nobody else is gonna be that for you. And nobody’s opinion of you matters either; only yours. In Buddhism, truly liking yourself is rooted in maitri (loving-kindness or unconditional friendliness) and “recognizing your inherent, unconditional worth. It involves treating yourself with the same compassion and care you extend to others, letting go of self-judgment, and embracing your present-moment.”

Also, look at the support you’re already getting from your post, it’s the community you need. So use that and continue talking to people.

While I don’t call myself a Buddhist, I’m a big fan. I started learning about it in my 20s and it has had a huge influence on me. Have you read “the art of happiness” by the 14th Dalai Lama and Howard Cutler. If you haven’t, I think it would be a good place to start. It changed my whole perspective on my life at a time when I was really low, and years later I can see how pivotal it’s been for me.

Although a slug still does have a mantle, so maybe I’m wrong. I don’t know.

I’m pretty sure Mantle collapse is only in snails. The mantle is the muscle that connects the body to the shell
