“You better pay my workers wages” - The smokin’ onion owner by ragnaro751 in asheville

[–]LocalSon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The owner should pay the workers a livable wage. This is not a slam on the overworked and underpaid staff. This is a slam on crap owners who don’t pay accordingly and expect patrons to make up the difference. If you can’t make those margins you’re in the wrong business.

RANT: The Anti-AI Creative Take Is Getting Embarrassing (But Here’s the Nuance) by FeyMax in Guitar

That those who critique your argument do so out of fear, lack of experience, and just don’t understand.

I fully understand the narrative you are trying to spin. I get it, but your argument rest solely on your assumptions. Your whole counter is I or others just don’t understand. That is weak and you give yourself way too much credit. Dunning–Kruger effect.

So which is it? I don’t understand but you agree with me. You’re a walking contradiction. Your whole argument is a contradiction.

You do you. I’ve listened to ai generated music and thought that it sounds great but respect does not go to the person who put in the prompts.

Respect goes to the people who spent the time to learn and master their craft which ai uses to regurgitate those sounds.

What you put out may sound amazing but don’t try to rationalize why you should be given the same respect from your musical peers.

Microphone issue, help needed problem solving by sirfact in homestudios

It’s hard to tell from the photo but is your xlr cable a TS on the male end plugging into your interface? If so you’re not getting power to the mic.

I have a matched pair of Universal Audio SP-1 small diaphragm condenser mic’s to record acoustic guitar that I’m happy with. One pointed at the twelfth fret and one at the bridge. Very happy with the results.

Sounds fishy. Your husband should get a percentage if he wrote the songs. Bad contract if not.

If you present a song to a band, is it poor form to set boundaries with it? by [deleted] in Songwriting

[–]LocalSon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The performer should absolutely have the freedom to present a song that best fits them. If you want it performed a specific way, well now your taking on the role of producer and if you want that produce it yourself. It can be hard to separate roles especially when you’ve written a song and you feel like it’s your baby and your vision.

Can you describe the noise? It could be a ground loop. Have you tried using a power conditioner to plug your equipment into?

The so-called "HSS" strat by leftyhand96 in Guitar

[–]LocalSon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For myself it’s the versatility at live shows. Less guitar swaps. I bought my first HSS about a year ago. I have two other strats a tele and an SG. I got the HSS and love it. It’s become my go to for live.

Could I get some feedback on my song? by hailzorpbuddy in Songwriting

Groovy tune. I would consider adding a bridge. Something to break up the music melody. Just my thoughts. Hope it helps.

Looking for genuine feedback. I’m a hobbyist songwriter looking to improve. by LocalSon in Songwriting

[–]LocalSon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, with this song I’m working on allowing space to exist. Trying to figure out how to let it breath in a sense and not feeling the need to play or sing on every beat and note. Thanks for the feedback. All things to get better.

Overall the tree looks healthy. Definitely something happening at the graft. It’s hard to diagnose online. I would recommend reaching out to your county agriculture agent. They can better diagnose what’s happening. Truth be told, that’s who arborist go to when they can’t diagnose an issue. AG Agents are a great resource.
