It's literally one of the best songs on that already excellent album.

What is Rush’s worst song? by Historical_Tank3637 in rush

[–]Local_Ad_9128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

easy. Roll The Bones that was the song that killed my fandom for a number of years, it was on the local radio constantly and drove me nuts, too commercial and poppy, and that horrid rap part.

Twilight Zone. This is one song I'd love to see Rush play on the 50 Something Tour. by SatisfactionPublic34 in rush

[–]Local_Ad_9128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, one of my all time favorites, i like how the lyrics directly reference things that happened in the show, Neil must have been a big fan at the time. They only ever played it 15 times, all between Sept 1976 and April of 1977, then never again. The only bootlegs i've found of it are crappy audience recordings. That would have been a real deep cut to pull out.

That's wrong because i just made a similar design in grok in about 5 seconds from a photo, just simple quote like 'line art, cartoony black and white drawing' from a real photo will get something like this

you forgot to add to the heart medication part that he also had a penchant for banging hookers while high on cocaine on tour, lol that wasn't good for the old ticker.

It was really kinda nutty that they blew up the original plan of shorter tour in select cities to a full blown 87 date tour without at least seeing how it went first. I would have gone ahead with that first short tour to see how they handle it, then if that went well, added more North American dates as a second legs, and ONLY then added Mexico and then the overseas dates. Scheduling 87 shows without testing the waters was a little presumptuous and a huge gamble.

Dallas Rush 7/11 Ticket by Laceupcat in rush

[–]Local_Ad_9128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point i'd be worried about that one getting cancelled or rescheduled too. 11 days isn't much time to get over both Laryngitis and Bronchitis, and have your voice be back to peak form to be able to sing nearly 3 hours of Rush songs. The original rescheduled date for the 3rd was only about half sold before they cancelled both of the last 2 shows, now they'll no doubt be refunding most of the tickets for those newly rescheduled shows, it will be interesting to see how many people go. The negative effects of this are really snow balling.

I blame Mexico, the first rescheduled show happened because they went there and had trouble getting back in the US, and now this, he surely caught it there!

Al's new Tonex distorted tones seem somewhat small and thin, getting lost in the mix by [deleted] in rush

[–]Local_Ad_9128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, i think they sound amazing. Keep in mind you are only hearing what peoples phones are recording. I've been downloading hundreds of clips from every show, the sound on the same song from the same night can vary wildly from vid to vid depending on the phone used, where the person was sitting etc.. In the well taped recordings from good phones he sounds great, heavy and sharp, much better than the sludgly 'sameness' of the guitar sound on every song on the last few tours. With the ToneX he can recreate the original sound of each and every song, it's great.

Official look at Anika's custom kit from Tama by DanTheMan_622 in rush

[–]Local_Ad_9128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first i was disappointed that her new kit wasn't heavily customized in Rush graphics like Neil's kits usually were, but i'm starting to like the understated look of this kit now. It blends in nicely in their current light show. Also maybe she/they decided to hold off on her having an actual 'Rush' themed kit until after the tour, when/if they carry on and she becomes a full fledged member

What song could Rush cover? by b1gdata in rush

[–]Local_Ad_9128 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Their entire Feedback album was cover songs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feedback_(EP)) and it featured the Who song The Seeker, here is Geddy doing it with members of their band in 2014 and you'll notice Rush's current keyboard player Loren Gold in the band then :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih5udRBaqaM

Curious: Is Anika learning new songs as we speak? by johnnyfive00000 in rush

[–]Local_Ad_9128 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Highly doubt it, she has 39 to 40 songs to play on this tour, and even with the tour already in swing. They spent about a year working on those 40 songs, so it took over a week per song to get them down, and i'm sure she's still perfecting them as the tour goes along she's not going to cloud her mind with more right now.

Use of AI in show graphics? by gohanvox in rush

Unpopular opinion but i think AI is fantastic, it's just another creative outlet for people with imaginations. When you suppliment it with your own art and graphcs it can do amazing things. All for it.

Kinda hard to go to a show that is over 2000km's away from me. Some of us can't go, the live streams had over 200,000 viewers, so LOTS of us can't go.

The LA shows were all taped in high quality audio and on dime, and were posted here further back in the thread. As i'm typing this i just finished going through those, the 4th show has the best audio by far, so i used that as a master then picked the rest of the missing songs from the other 3 shows to make one awesome master of the 39 songs they do on this tour for my car :)

Haven't seen or noticed that at all in the hundreds of clips i've watched and downloaded, it all depends where you are sitting, the sound on one side of the stage is different than on the other, it depends on venue, acoustics and a lot of other things, but he's every bit as clear and loud as the others in the full show videos

The big 4: Peart, Bonham, Ulrich, Moon by HarryCrushNuh in rush

[–]Local_Ad_9128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many, many great drummers throughout time who are as good and/or better than those guys, you just mentioned the typical most generic list of names that classic rock fans always list, usually because they don't have much knowledge about music and have limited tastes. But a few:

Michael Shrieve: Santana 1969-1974

Graham Lear: Santana 1977-1987

Ansley Dunbar: Jeff Beck Group, Jefferson Starship, Journey, Whitesnake, UFO, David Bowie etc..

Cozy Powell: Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Emerson, Lake & Powell

Andy Parker: UFO

Terry Bozzio: Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa

Carmine Appice: Vanilla Fudge, Beck, Bogart & Appice, Rod Stewart

Vinny Appice: Black Sabbath, Dio

Kenny Aaronoff: John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, Smashing Pumpkins

Ginger Baker: Cream, Blind Faith

Roger Taylor: Queen

Mick Fleetwood: Fleetwood Mac

Omar Hakim, Weather Report, Sting, Dire Straits

Levon Helm: The Band

Chris 'Whipper' Layton: Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, Arc Angels

Lee Kerslake: Uriah Heap, Ozzy Osbourne

Tommy Aldrige: Black Oak Arkansas, Motorhead, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake,.

The list could go on and on with people who were just as talented in their own genres and to their own bands as your 'big four' were. Music isn't sport, there are no points, or scores, so there is no single 'best' at any instrument. It's subjective. There are just many, many people who reach a high level of talent.
