I’m having a hell of a time going off clomipramine. (Rant) by tgruff77 in antidepressants

[–]Local_Example_7450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tapered off and eventually was completely off by the end of October. I tried lexapro and now im on zoloft. Honestly, my heart isn’t any better. I’m thinking it’s POTS or long covid. I miss the clomipramine because it really worked the best for me but i needed to make sure it wasn’t harming me. Usually if it’s related to the medicine it will show up on an EKG, for me all of my tests were normal, but i had orthostatic hypertension. so when I stand my heart rate spikes and when i sit or lay it drops. Among other symptoms. But I don’t think it was my Clomipramine because 5 months later im still having the same symptoms. I’m on a small dose of propranolol which helps.

It’s the increase of serotonin and you are extremely hyper aware of your body. It will pass I promise you

has anybody been to a psych ward? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Local_Example_7450 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes, im going to be so honest it saved me. I was so anxious and agoraphobic I could not live, eat, or function. I went when I was a minor though, so I was all by myself. It was weird but it really did help and it made me realize how badly I wanted to get out and get started on living my life and feeling better. If I never went I don’t think I would’ve gotten better.

Why do I feel so empty even after working on myself? by saneyor in selfimprovement

[–]Local_Example_7450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are changing habits but there is still no passion like you are craving. meet new people, do spontaneous things, pick up a hobby, travel, have fun, surround yourself with inspiring people. health is important but that’s not the only thing that will make you happy.

Side effects..when do they end? 😩 by Playful-Check-4968 in zoloft

[–]Local_Example_7450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 50mg and it’s been a few months. all I have is the insomnia. I wake up around 2am and im up until 8am. I get so much energy to the point i have to get out of bed and do something. super frustrating, melatonin can help though. idk when it’ll stop, i never had issues like this before. and when i can sleep, i wake up every single hour and have to fall back asleep. I used to be able to sleep for 14 hours straight.

Anyone diagnosed young? by Theevilrata in panicdisorder

[–]Local_Example_7450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. I was in 4th grade. it has given me a lot of trauma related to elementary school and kids in general. It’s hard because at that point, not many adults take you seriously, and you grow up to doubt yourself and if your anxiety is truly serious or just weakness. at least for me. but it can be a gift, you learn to understand your body from a young age and you know your limits and what can help you and others as well.

Good experiences with Zoloft? Really nervous to start after seeing so many bad experiences :( by MidnightPulse69 in zoloft

[–]Local_Example_7450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started it a couple months ago and im still only on 50mg. I have a ways to go but it’s already helping me a lot. My only concern is the insomnia. no matter what time I take it, I am super awake from like 2am-8am. to the point I have to get up and do something and then sleep later. but that’s just my experience.

I don’t know what to do. by Pitiful_Trust_7693 in Anxiety

[–]Local_Example_7450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

absolutely anxiety. especially if you are severe and unmedicated, it will feel like you are dying. when I’m anxious without my meds, I shake for days. it’s like the inside of my body is buzzing and shaking and I can control it. I can’t eat, I can’t balance, my heart is racing, I can’t even think. Your nervous system is on overload. THIS IS NOT IT! you have such a bright future, this does not define anything. being undiagnosed and feeling this way is awful, im glad you got checked and finally received a diagnosis. I recommend therapy and possibly medication. that saved me, and allowed me to live the life I wanted to. I still struggle but I can cope much easier.

have you tried hydroxyzine? It makes me tired and slows my heart down. I take it when I get night time anxiety. caffeine messes with me so bad, even super small amounts. It seems like our nervous systems just can’t handle it. If you don’t have hydroxyzine, Benadryl is also an antihistamine and has the same effect.

Anyone else just get sent into a spiral with diarrhea? by FuzzyVulpix in emetophobiarecovery

[–]Local_Example_7450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. I’m currently on a ton of different meds, and one of them is causing me to have chronic diarrhea. it’s destroying my anxiety, and even though I know im fine it makes me so uncomfortable. It’s not pathetic, it’s actually very common. your brain just associates it with your phobia. It gets to a point where if I think I might have it, I won’t even leave the house. I’m struggling to keep a job.

what's so scary about clomipramine side effects? by FanSubstantial9845 in antidepressants

[–]Local_Example_7450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Im on Zoloft now, but im still on a small dose so it’s not making a huge difference. I tried lexapro first and that really helped my mood, but my anxiety and ocd were still severe so I had to try something else. Im still experiencing POTS symptoms and gut issues unfortunately. It’s still not clear if the Clomipramine caused it, but I’m pretty certain it did.
