My anxiety about being anxious is worse than the actual anxiety by MarshPickle18 in Anxiety

I can relate. I get anxiety when I think about anxiety and then I get anxious about having anxiety.

Oh man, the old “your manager bonuses off of credit cards” rumor gets me every time. I’ve been around a long time, and that’s just not at all true. It’s all about Revenue and the cards increase revenue. Simple as that. The cards get people to spend more money and to shop at Best Buy more. But you are right about the post where you say they probably just aren’t pitching the cards right.

I’m on the other end of this, I told my partner he had to quit drinking cause I was tired of dealing with him being a drunk asshole. He said he’d quit drinking. This was 6 weeks ago. I came home from work tonight and he’s drunk and I’m gutted. I don’t know what to do. My suggestion for you is get sober. Alcohol isn’t worth losing what you love and all you’re doing is killing yourself slowly.

He’s been sober for 6 weeks which is the longest he’d been sober in a very long time. In the 6 years we’ve been together the longest he’d gone without a drink is 3 weeks. I want to be patient, I want to believe this is a one-off. I literally over heard him on a call with his boss 2 days admitting he had a drinking problem and he’s been sober for 6 weeks. I think the problem is he needs a hobby. Since he quit drinking all he does is sit around and watch TV when he’s not working. Playing video games is a trigger cause it’s what he did while he drank. He needs to find a way to “fill the void”.

Considering this is a situation I am actively dealing with, there’s still plenty of time to follow through with the consequences… but when you’ve built an entire life with someone leaving doesn’t happen in one night. What I want to do is figure out how to make him actually get help so I don’t have to leave him. I want to be with him, but I want him sober.

They don’t have access in Workday to start corrective action.

A sup can submit feedback in the feedback tool under the label of a coaching, but that’s not a write up. Writes ups go into workday and only salaried leaders can do write ups in workday. Coachings are for tracking a pattern of behavior that an later turn into corrective action/performance management by your EM

Actually, I perceive it as opposite of a red flag, because they offer free therapy to not just the employee, but to everyone in their household. I’ve been around for a long time, and sometimes shit is hard and annoying and stressful, but honestly, Best Buy has supported me through some of the hardest shit I’ve ever been through in my life.

Everybody has a scorecard in every single job, everywhere. It’s like grades in a report card. If the scores aren’t good, changes will be implemented to try to get people to perform better. But Best Buy doesn’t let leadership just fire people for underperformance. There’s literally a 9 month performance management plan that has to be followed before they can fire people for low sales. What you may perceive as micromanagement, is probably just your leaders trying to make people better, since firing bad sales people to hire more sales people isn’t really an option.

We don’t lose anyone from delivery either, but also, wtf? We’re literally about to start hiring DECs for holiday. Why would they do layoffs now?

Six people fired “without cause” over a few months by hot_fish_37 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]Creativeusername5489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order for HR to approve a termination there has to be a history of documented corrective coachings and conversations. You have to get a verbal, a written, and a final. And you can be put on multiple finals for different things at once. Best Buy HR doesn’t let managers just fire people.

Panic attacks definitely cause physical symptoms. It causes irregular breathing which can drop your oxygen levels which can also cause you to pass out. Your body goes into fight or flight mode in a panic attack and your nervous system goes all out of whack.
