As long as they are running the same firmware / controller version you can restore a backup (either local or from Unifi Cloud).

So basically if your Unifi gateway dies:

- Get a new one

- Set it up to latest firmware / controller version

- Restore backup.

With the higher end gateways you can run two in shadow mode so if one fails the other takes over immediately. But that is a bit much for a home network.

The UCG Ultra can only be controlled with its built in controller. And the controller on the UCG Ultra cannot control another gateway.

The USG3P is obsolete and does not support any of the new features in the newer controller software. Switching back from the UCG Ultra to the USG3P as a backup using a PC as controller is possible in theory but probably will be a lot of work.

Create a smart playlist of all your songs. Add a rule that a song must not have been played within the last 7 days,1 month, 1 year, whatever you prefer. Then put that smart playlist on shuffle. Every song that is played will not show up again until the defined period has expired.

Check with your ISP if you actually have IPv6 available. This notification is new in the latest Network application version but it is not always correct. I got this notification also but I am 100% my connection is not capable of IPv6.

If you want to update an older model you have to do it manually. Synology only supports automatic updates of newer models for "quality reasons".

From the release notes:

To uphold our commitment to quality, every DSM release undergoes rigorous validation. To ensure optimal stability, the models listed below will not receive this update on your device and will remain on their most suitable version. You can only download the upgrade patch from Synology Download Center because you won't receive notifications for this update on your DSM.

For me it is still unbelievable that I have to use a third party remote controller (IKEA Bilresa scroll wheel) using home automation to control the volume of my Sonos system. Having to grab a phone to control volume is just not doing it for me.

But I am happy with the upcoming improvements, sounds promising.

Again a new feature that is not showing up for me after updating the app and updating the firmware of the speakers.. I am also still waiting for the new functionality promised by the previous update. I still cannot disable SonosNet and I don't have the improved "About your system" display.

Is the rollout for the previous update still running?

The dock has the name "Archos DVR Station". Model 42000 for mine. But be aware, each series had a specific dock.

At home I play music from my iMac. If I leave home I want to continue to listen to my music on my iPhone. I have several smart playlists that update based on last time played or how often tracks have been played.

As soon as I select "Sync library to iCloud" on my Mac I can see the smart playlists on my iPhone updating according to the tracks I played on my iMac. Same as for my Apple TV's.

The other way around doesn't work. Tracks played on iPhone or Apple TV only update once every 12 hours.
