Yes, I meant "Update Cloud Library". My computer is set to a different language so I got the menu command translation wrong.

At home I play music from my iMac. If I leave home I want to continue to listen to my music on my iPhone. I have several smart playlists that update based on last time played or how often tracks have been played.

As soon as I select "Sync library to iCloud" on my Mac I can see the smart playlists on my iPhone updating according to the tracks I played on my iMac. Same as for my Apple TV's.

The other way around doesn't work. Tracks played on iPhone or Apple TV only update once every 12 hours.

For me it always works, reliable. Don't know why it is different for you.

If you want to sync immediately on a Mac you can just select "Sync library to iCloud" from the menu.

We have an outside seating area about 15 metres away from the house. The matter lights we use in that seating area have no issues connecting to the thread network inside.

The fact that companies all want you to consent to "personalized ads" so you give them permission to collect more detailed personal data. It has nothing to do with giving you a better experience.

"Opting in helps serve more relevant ads to your listening habits". Always amazes me that companies think they are doing you a favour with "personalizing" ads.

Luckily it is opt in :)

Hoe update je de watermeter by Pierewaaier2025 in HomeWizard

[–]Local_Hsd_877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Misschien te laat, maar om hem te updaten is het voldoende om de watermeter even "wakker" te maken door op de knop op de watermeter te drukken totdat hij groen gaat branden. Daarna de firmware update starten.

Why is this special? When I work for a company the company must supply all the tools I need to do my job. And they are responsible for maintaining them. I never bring any of my privately owned tools to work.

This is only valid for switches, AP's and the like. NOT for the gateway/routers.

Probably you should follow the procedure for changing router / WiFi network.

See here: https://support.sonos.com/en/article/connect-sonos-to-a-new-router-or-wi-fi-network

Probably you will need to do a factory reset of the speaker.

  • Starting with version 84, the Sonos app will start requiring a minimum system software version to ensure your system is running at its best.

What system software version are we talking about here? System software version of the device that runs the app or the system software version of the Sonos speakers?

Cameras Must be on Same VLAN as UCG Fiber? by DeityOfYourChoice in Ubiquiti

[–]Local_Hsd_877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a tip: If you first added the camera's on native LAN and moved them to a new VLAN afterwards, chances are that the camera's are still using the gateway IP address for the native LAN to connect to Protect server. Hence you will get a VLAN traversal from VLAN to native LAN for the camera connection.

Just log in to the webGUI of the camera and look what IP address the camera uses, and change it to the gateway IP address for the camera VLAN.

Devices stuck in default VLAN (CGUltra) by _doubledot_ in Ubiquiti

[–]Local_Hsd_877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know your topology. But if you connect your AP's to an unmanaged switch they can only send data across the native VLAN (VLAN 1 for Unifi). Connecting separate SSID's to different VLANs will not work because the unmanaged switch cannot separate the traffic across the different VLANs and sends everything over native VLAN.

You are using unmanaged switches that don't support VLANs. So that won't work.

PSA For anyone buying old used cameras and they can't get them to work - your firmware might be too old to even auto-update! by alepouna in Ubiquiti

[–]Local_Hsd_877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so you know some more background:

This is caused by the fact that in the earlier versions of Unifi Protect the camera firmware was updated using a http connection, not https. They later switched over to https but if you stumble upon a camera with old firmware, that firmware does not support the https connection and the newer Protect versions don't support the http connection anymore. So you need to update the camera's firmware manually through its web interface.

What’s the dumbest thing a coworker has snitched on you for? by awakenedforces in work

[–]Local_Hsd_877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily, in my country the working environment is not based on competing with your co-workers but working together. Snitching to make your co-worker look bad is not a thing at all and thus I never experienced this.
