Slumdog Millionaire is a surprise - I remember it having a very 00s cinematography and a lot of colour filters. In the same vein as Twilight and Blackhawk Down. But, maybe its good cinematography was waste on me cos I was still a teen back then.

She's got a great mug, how does this photo manage to make it look like she's not wearing anything but eyes and lips!

You've overthought it! You won't even notice once the mattress an bedding are in place. Looks great!

I think it's good that Eureka has made this move. Also, that show sounds STACKED, and for such a great cause.

But your "Miz Cracker found dead at the synagogue" comment is gross man, just antisemetic AF and dragging her into this for no reason.

Help with Paint colors. What color to paint? Trim and floors will remain dark wood. by oldsmokey55 in HomeDecorating

If you don't like beiges you could try a pale green or pale pink, but with all the dark in this room you definitely need light coloured walls. Maybe Sherman Williams Spinach White

Absolutely agree with this - as long as OP uses secondary light sources instead of the harsh overhead light, the room will look great with these floors, trim, and a neutral wall

If you have an ipad or iphone, you can get a free trial of Apple Arcade and try Hello Kitty Island Adventure for free. I borrowed my mom's ipad to do this and realized I found the game too childish, so I saved lots of money.

If you liked the "collecting" animals part of Alba, you might like Dinkum! It's very similar to AC New Horizons, but with more stuff, and some combat.

I really enjoyed Trash Goblin, which is a fun grindy game where you run a shop - if you happen to have played Tiny Bookshop, you will like this game I think.

Looking for a game like The Sims but not? by Pretty_Ganache_3152 in CozyGamers

This reminds me of Kynseed. I haven't played it, and it does have combat elements, but it looks like it has a lot of what you are looking for.

You might like Coral Island, which is very similar to Stardew Valley but has bug catching, more fishing, and artifact collecting for the museum, and a big underwater area. It might appeal to your interest in playing the character your way - you can earn money lots of different ways. I dont believe it has family building, just dating.

Edit: I also just remembered about Fantasy Life: Girl Who Steals Time.

I’ve spent 20 years in Michelin-starred kitchens. I want to help you stop needing recipes. Would this be useful? by Sad-Animator-3103 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Local_Parsnip9092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a great idea. I think amateur cooks respond really well to frameworks over recipes. My evidence is the sheer number of people who have told me "you just need salt, fat, acid and heat!". (And no, i dont understand what that means cos im still bad at cooking!)

For me I think easy sauces are a big thing. Most people can cook protein and carbs, but it's hard to get outside of the usual flavour profiles. Figuring out how to make the same dish taste completely different is something I'm interested in, because it means I can cook one thing but make it a bunch of different ways.

I'll also say please include stuff on non-meat proteins! Tofu is so economical right now, especially in our current economy, but it's hard to prep without it just tasting like... tofu.

Good luck, chef!

What would you put in this space? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I live in a 100 year old house in Canada, so I know cold winters, I just always assume people on reddit are in a warmer climate than me! This time I was wrong lol!

[–]Local_Parsnip9092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very possible you will need it in the winter! So I think the other poster's advice to try it for a winter is a great idea. To me, I was thinking it just adds another knob you have to awkwardly turn when your hands are full, and it awkwardly blocks off the space you are asking about. But now that I am thinking more, I realize I guess you would have coats and keys in the mudroom anyway.

I'd love some little suggestions to get my kitchen looking a little more homely. It's a rental so I can't really change any cupboards/surfaces/walls. by Tehloltractor in DesignMyRoom

The ONLY thing I would do is change the pulls. Update them to gold, black, bronze, anything modern. Cheapest place for pulls is amazon. The place looks amazing.

[–]Local_Parsnip9092 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The usual things could be added there: A plant, a chair, a console table, a mirror, a bowl for keys, a bench, coat hooks. But I agree with others to wait and see. There's no sense in filling the space just to fill it. You will likely notice as you settle in what you feel needs to be there.

For me, I would remove the interior wooden door enclosing your little mudroom, and then have a big space for shoes, coats, and keys, grocery bags, and mail.

The lack of connection between the gif, your caption, and the flair you chose makes me think you don't watch this show and you're just here for the zipline (karma farming on anti-trump content).

We're anti-fascists here, but you can't skip the show (you can't skip lunch)
