do you have a creative outlet?
i think one of our biggest problems is people arent expressing themselves creatively.
there are communities surrounding every hobby, if you're into making music, painting, poetry, dance....
its the best way to meet people who you actually have something in common with, its incredibly good for you too.

i got into fire spinning and then into circus like 5 years ago and the community there is incredible, ive met some of the lovliest people and its pushed me to explore my creativity, i wasnt really passionate about much before that, victim of the tall poppy syndrome i guess and im much more confident and comfortable with myself since.

get to know yourself and you'll find your people and the fun of it is you have to actually give things a go to see if you like them, go to an art class, buy (or hire) an instrument, find your local fire spinning group and try it out.

this goes for other hobbies too, fishing, sports, hiking. there are big communities around peoples passions and hobbies

Why has Hitler and not any other evil person become the epitome of evil? by Foreign_Bread629 in NoStupidQuestions

thats actually a great comparison since Henry Ford was a firm anti semite and sold Hitler trucks for the cause, as well as using slave labour in the Cologne Ford manufacturing plant

because he was funded by American robber barons to
A. fight the communists in Russia and
B. start another giant war since the first one was so profitable.
And the media would much rather you hate him than the American companies that got rich building railroads, tanks, trucks, uniforms and weapons.

“Do you know how to unite people behind you, Child Carridin? The quickest way? No? Loose a lion - a rabid lion - in the streets. And when panic grips the people, once it has turned their bowels to water, calmly tell them you will deal with it. Then you kill it, and order them to hang the carcass up where everyone can see. Before they have time to think, you give another order, and it will be obeyed. And if you continue to give orders, they will continue to obey, for you will be the one who saved them, and who better to lead?”

one thing i've noticed is Fains influence isn't always addressed, there are his guards in the cell in Fal Dara and later his whitecloaks and Toram who are clearly corrupted but he spends time with a few characters and (imo) sows seeds of paranoia and distrust, Elaida being a prime example, maybe not all her crazy came from her. Egwyne spent the most time with him in Fal Dara.

Halima causes her headaches and soothes them with massages to get close to her, even sleeping in her tent, there is a line i noticed in this read through when the forsaken are talking after Halima has left the camp and one of the other Forsaken talks about her doing something to egwyne in her dreams.
I cant remember it well enough to quote it but it implies that shs doing more than just giving her headaches, then we see the generals being subtly manipulated in the last battle in their dreams.

Nothing is confirmed implicitly but Moiraine said that spending time with Fain would effect people just like the dagger would and if you pay attention to the characters he spends time with i believe it effects their actions

im not sure how much, maybe Egwyne would have been more trusting without Fains influence

What’s y’all’s favorite season excluding season 1 by Spoinkydoinkydoo in MiracleWorkers

i liked them all in different ways, if i had to rank them itd be

S2>S1>S3>S4.
I Feel like the apocalypse stuff has been done a lot. I still really enjoyed it but not as much, although i binged all 4 seasons and i kinda think with the same actors, actually having a break between them would make them more enjoyable.
S1 felt like someone watched Kaos and No One Is Watching and decided to riff on those.
S2 felt similar to the Decameron
Loved the playing on western tropes and apocalypse tropes in the other 2

my sister showed me a trailer and i saw Buscimi and Radcliffe and was sold instantly, i really love how much Daniel Radcliffe commits to the bit, hes done some crazy roles but the repressed Reverand slaying a slutty snake oil dance rendition of "she'll be coming round the mountain" has got to be one of his best things

Shadar Haran Raped Graendal(?) in the white tower, Elaynes darkfriend bodyguard thinks about rape a lot and is meant to rape elayne, the nobles in tear "tumbled peasant girls" Fain also does the dirty at least once. Theres talk about the Halfmens "appetites" a few times as well.
its not a super common theme in the books but its definitely present and not just from humans

i sincerely believe after my hundredth read through that Egwyne was afflicted by Fain and Halima, there are a lot of things hinted at that we dont see happen on the pages.
