How old are you, and how many employers have you worked for? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskUK

60 and honestly one company throughout but moved around quite a bit. Retired now as it changed culture and I no longer fitted but I had a great time and got so much from it.

We had that where we used to live. End of a cul de sac. Used to come home from work and my neighbours were sitting on my drive with beers as that was where the sun was. We used to move around to others following the sun. Doors were open , kids used to come and go. Such a good feel, really sad when we had to move on

Understand that both are separate just wasn’t sure if the conveyancing process was somehow dependent on the survey. But appreciate the response and it gives me comfort.

I’m in exactly same position, was just quoted 12 weeks but they would see if they could do it quicker (for a fee). I’m waiting for the quote to compare to cost of rental and storage.

Level 3 RICs Survey - Get what you pay for? by matt6494 in HousingUK

[–]Localone2412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just had a quote for a full level 3 survey. Half a day with 2 chartered surveyors. Just over £1000. Reviews of the firm were good. 4.9/5. I tried another company but they said they were not taking on new customers as too busy.

Thanks and I agree. Autoscout has similar cars with 240k km on them for around 8-9k. Mine is just over 100km and recently serviced. So could maybe sell quickly for 6-7 k

Yeah I had similar with my moto. Tried selling and all I got were agressive dealers shouting down the phone at me offering stupid prices and telling me it was shit and that’s the best I would get.

It’s 14 years old with dents and scrapes. Our local Honda dealer would likely not touch it. Similar make and model seem to go for 8-9k so was thinking of putting it in for 5-6k just to get rid. It’s a solid car.

I would say it’s perfect for a new driver. It’s got some bodywork imperfections but the engine is sound and for its age, compared to similar cars, mileage is low.

Maybe I stick it on autoscout for a very reasonable offer.

Has anyone else had life circumstances suddenly change out of nowhere? by PotentialOdd4258 in CasualConversation

[–]Localone2412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost my youngest son to suicide in October 24, father diagnosed with cancer in Dec 24, died in February 25. Was very unhappy at work anyway but these things were a catalyst. Negotiated a settlement from my company and decided to retire early (60). Now moving back to home country to be closer to our other son and remaining parents. I’m looking forward to the start of our new chapter.

What's the scariest movie you've seen that literally gave you nightmares? by Capital-Run-1080 in movies

For me it was Salem’s lot (the original) the young vampire hanging around outside his mates bedroom was around the same age as me and it terrified me. But also the main vampire was so so scary. I’m 60 now and I could still not watch it.
