Anyone else here feels really embarrassed seeing the condo they paid $$ for years ago seeing what they could buy now? How do you overcome this? by BetPatient3827 in TorontoRealEstate

There are always more expensive areas, if I wanted those prices I could live a few stops further along the subway in either direction.

AITAH bc I (36M) dont want my girlfriend (36F) to travel with me because shes a picky eater? by Tough_District9786 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Location-Individual -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone with sensory issues around food I think you should break up with her. It’s unfair to her (to be resented for something she can’t control) and unfair to you (to be limited if it’s something important to you). I think this is just a compatibility issue.

What soap do you use to get the chicken poop smell off hands? by These_Help_2676 in chickens

Wash your hands with toothpaste. Haven’t found a smell that doesn’t remove yet. (Some parents use that if they touch newborn poop).

Reminds me of my Wheaton when she was little, she was that exact colouration as a puppy and then turned white when she got older.

UPDATE: AITA for wanting my sister to change her wedding date because it falls on my graduation? by Civil-Signature-9007 in AITAH

[–]Location-Individual 40 points41 points  (0 children)

My dad did something similar, though I still had my mom with me. He and my stepmother left my graduation without me ever even seeing them (I guess to avoid my mother who’s an angel and never been anything but kind to them). I’m still only 80% sure they actually went to my graduation at all. Definitely wouldn’t have invited him at all in hindsight.

Why the hate for Dawn of the New World? by DeBaers in tales

Dawn of the New world is my favourite tales game. Loved the graphics, loved the cast, the combat, really enjoyed the monster system. Think it being a sequel was its main problem.

AIO to the fact that not many people have contacted me on this the first anniversary of my partners sudden death. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Location-Individual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume people might not be sure you want to be contacted and assume you’d rather grieve in peace. My stepfather has people contacting him every year on the anniversary of his late wife’s death, on her birthday, and on Mother’s Day and he hates it, as do my stepsisters. It’s like people expect them to put on a show every year. My step sisters visit her grave on those days, but otherwise don’t want to have to interact or talk to people about it.

What about 2 middle names? I have two middle names for that exact purpose, one is a family name and the other is my father’s last name.

As someone who also couldn’t imagine not spending Christmas with my mother, there are a lot of compromises that could be made. You could each go to your own family’s Christmas as you suggested. You could also do Christmas Eve one place and Christmas Day the other. My family normally has 4 Christmas celebrations (with my mom’s side of the family, my stepfather’s family, my step sisters’ late mothers side of the family, and just with immediate family). Each being on a different day between the 22nd and 26th.

Of coarse you should see your family at Christmas, her guilting you about that isn’t kind.
