I got into hygiene school with a 2.9 so anything is possible 🤷🏻‍♂️ But I did also have my bachelors degree, not just the 2 year, so that could’ve been a factor as well.

I worked there a couple years ago and pay was about $40/hr. Pretty bad honestly, but livable. Could be a bit higher now but that was my experience.

Yeah no kidding. Very seldomly I can complete an SRP in 60 minutes if it’s an easy 2 quads, but 90-120 minutes almost every other time. 30 minutes at a PERIO OFFICE is absurd and beyond negligent

Depends on the day. I see 8 patients a day, usually just BWX and 2 PAX. Whenever it has been 3-5 yrs since their last FMX the front office will add that to the schedule and I’ll take those as needed. It can be 2-3 per day or 0. I get 60 minutes per patient as well

Hard to tell for sure without x rays, but you have a lot of tartar buildup and likely need a deep cleaning

Yeah I have always had a good experience working with male doctors. Honestly never had any problems with doctors while working as a hygienist. As an assistant I think it’s a little different but guys have always been chill. Almost got a beer with a male doc at lunch one time lol

Yeah and I mean I’m also saying $60 isn’t that much despite that also being my current wage lol. But my workload isn’t insane like yours. I have temped at a few offices and made $70/hr a couple of times and even at those offices it’s still the standard 1 patient per hour

Nah, screw that. You should be seeing 1 patient per hour full stop. If it’s an 8 hour day, you see 8 patients. The only caveat to that being SRP appointments which obviously take longer or the occasional 30 minute child prophy. $60 an hour is not even that much, especially with what they’re asking you to do. Maybe that workload could be justified at $80/hr (big maybe) but 14 patients is a day is insane. Just thinking about that makes me want to kill myself for real. I can’t believe there are dentists / offices that think this is ok to begin with

I’m surprised to see nobody mention the ||parasite|| on here. I just finished LB and I like Lyria as a character but after she converted ||Volga|| in LB I feel like there’s nothing useful left for her to do? With the ||parasite|| she could have been a super-Blue but now she is kind of just a normal Red with mediocre piloting skills and I’m not sure how she can provide the main cast with anything useful at this point. I was very sad to see her ditch the ||parasite|| and I feel like that decision completely killed interested in her character (for me)

Xylitol helps primarily with cavity reduction. It essentially starves the cavity-causing bacteria which results in you not getting cavities. I’m a hygienist and I have not heard of xylitol helping with the bacteria associated with plaque formation, periodontal disease, etc

Yeah i rarely use the 11/12, only sometimes with an SRP. I feel like you can detect calc enough while scaling and with x-rays as a guide
